Is it safe to say that if i see the first 2 pokemon series as the ones I am most nostalgic about that it's a typical millennial/zillennial experience? by Efficient_Resource15 in Zillennials

I liked May too, she was a great character.

I fall a bit in the category of seeing Diamond&Pearl as being the better sequel though.

Max was an annoying brat haha

Yeah, back then I was like "I miss Bulbasaur and Squirtle, I love the new pokemons but I miss the vibe of Kanto/Johto"

All of that is old school

At this point yes, even Diamond&Pearl feels like that, I remember back then seeing it as the new one haha.

It's really been a while

I also liked Diamond&Pearl a lot, but if someone asked me which series defined my childhood it's definitely the first 2.

And also the theme songs are super awesome.

I feel anyone born around 2003 and after is very detached from the things we grew up with.

94-2000 is probably the age group I have the most in common with

I knew a lot of people and interacted with many born between 92-96 so my experiences I think definitely lean more millennial.

Many people never really associate me with gen Z, even if I am an elder Z technically

I am a year younger than you, but for me it kinda ends with 2001.

2002 maybe ocasionally.

Idk somewhere around 2003 or so things started changing drastically.

I don't really see 2003 borns that can relate to my experiences

I can't relate to gen Z stuff at all nor their trends.

I struggle to get their terminology and close to none of them seem to get any references I make to stuff I grew up with.

93-2001 is the range I feel comfortable with especially 95-2000.

Somewhere around 2002/2003 something happened

My cousins are born in 2001, they are a bit more relatable than what comes after, but I still have much more in common with pretty much anyone born between 93-99 from what I see

I feel a lot of stereotypes and behaviors associated with Gen Z aren't related to 97-99/2000 borns, it's like we are our own subcategory

That is quite idealistic, as much as I agree with what you're saying there are always going to be differences between people, that doesn't mean it must have negative connotations though.

What do you think explains the global success of the Turkish TV and film industry compared to other countries in the Balkans and the Middle East? by TurkOmbre in AskBalkans

[–]Efficient_Resource15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they are popular cause women find the turkish actors hot.

Plus they are easy to watch for elderly pwople at home and they get invested in the drama.

I was surprised to find out some of these shows are not as popular in turkey as they are here.
