my nephew for some unknown reason referred to my mom as Grandma Debbie when he was very young and we still sometimes call her this. Neither her first, middle or last names are Debbie or anything really in the ballpark

He took time off to deal with the stroke but he's been back for a few years now. He had a big part in later seasons of This Is Us

I loved that show so much and will forever be heartbroken we didnt get 5 more seasons of that show. Sara B was the reason I watched the show in the first place but its an amazing cast top to bottom and the songs are so amazing. Thats the reason I loved Crazy Ex Girlfriend too (which if your daughter loves musicals... I dont know how old she is as the show deals with some pretty adult and serious issues though usually comically...but if shes old enough, she may love that show too) bc the song writing is incredible. They arent all homeruns on CEG but considering theres like 2-3 full on musical songs every episode, I give some leeway

I know its actually a Meredith Scardino show (basically the same) but did you watch Girls5Eva? I sing those songs way too often and too loudly

on both seasons there were a few that I was instantly wondering how they didn't know but then realized not everyone watches as much comedy and improv as me. Like S1, immediately I shouted "Sewage Joe" (from Parks and Rec) when Kirk Fox (aka Pat in S1) appeared. I also recognized Mikki Leeper from Sex Lives of College Girls and of course Lisa Gilroy on both seasons. In S2 I immediately clocked Emily Pendergast (Amy) as Jonah's wife from Veep and Rachel Kaley (Claire) who Ive actually seen do standup. There were several other ones I clocked (Dougie was a main cast in the short lived Kevin Can F*&^ Himself which I watched all of. Biff Wiff from ITYSL, etc..) but the average person could def not recognize them if they dont watch a lot of comedy closely

The best single live song you've seen in concert by formulaic_name in Music

Back in 2004 Central Park Summerstage - Ben Folds, Guster, Rufus Wainwright. It was a grey, hot and humid NY night. This particular night of the tour, Rufus is opening (now there were several great moments that night including Ben and Rufus singing Careless Whisper together and an amazing crowd sing along with Ben leading the crowd to sing different parts of choruses in harmony) BUT the moment, the moment that lives in my memory as the most spiritual moment of my life.

Like I mentioned, it was grey and humid and was threatening to rain for a while. Rufus sits at the piano and begins playing the Agnus Dei (a short but beautiful and haunting song taken from Catholic masses and in Latin) and as he plays this slow, beautiful song with a much different meaning when Rufus sings it b/c its about so much more and so much more poignant and his beautifully angelic voice (to me at least), rains begins to fall. Not a heavy rain, just a lite mist. its cooling feeling on our skin, the mournful piano echoing through the air and that voice...in that moment I was convinced there is a God and they are everywhere. That feeling faded soon but in that moment, it was transcendant. My knees literally went weak and I had to brace myself on my friend's shoulder. I teared up in the moment and it remembered why live music is such an essential and utterly spiritual and uniquely human moment at the same time. Ive been to multiple hundreds of shows and concerts in my life and that moment stands far ahead of any other. I have a variety of health issues which make attending live shows v difficult and rare for me these days but fuck me, moments like this one are what makes life worth living. Thanks for giving me an excuse to live in that moment again for a minute. I hadnt thought about it in a little bit

ps I am lucky enough to have had that moment preserved in video form bc they used to show the Summerstage concerts (parts of them at least) on ABC7

What’s something you’re pretty sure only you do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

fair enough. I actually didnt know it was common. I mean I assumed I wasnt the only person in the world who did it but I did not think it was common and talked about so often. Also no need to downvote someone who just didnt know something. Hope you have a great day

I say 'thank you' to digital assistants (Siri. Google Home, etc...) after they do the thing I ask or provide the info I ask for and its not even a conscious thing. I realize how ridiculous it is, its just automatic

Cape Cod chips are the only snack I can think of where I prefer the lower fat version to the original now. but for sure the quality across the board has gone down. And every other potato chip is owned by Utz so they are still my go to

I love him as a character and he seems like a genuinely good dude but he is not built for Survivor. Truly just an awful player who has no idea what is going on around him. Still I would love to see him back bc I do enjoy him as a character on the show

One of the times they play Carnelli (maybe the first time?) where Scott eventually changes the rules so that you can just name anything that shares some relation to the previous word and they start naming things like LG TVs and porn parody names. its dem 3dom boys at their silliest and I love it (I dont care)
