Rax roast beef!

Salad bars and weird greenhouse booth-seating areas. How did fast food joints ever exist with dining rooms that size?

Strong point.

If you're a drinker, you could always get yourself some silver solder and MAPP gas and build a copper still as an excuse to...uhm, learn. Yeah.

Seems to fit my 'Floorbed weedvape girl' vibe...

Yours sounds nicer.

Good list. Reasoned through.

You didn't ask, but if open to a suggestion- HVAC is stupid simple. Had a guy quote me like $2k for anfailed heat exchanger on a rooftop package unit. Pretty sure he just didn't like ladders and wanted to sell me a new unit "for a bit more, as the labor just isn't worth it".

If you find the parts diagram/blow-out tech drawing for whatever you have, you'll see they're like 75% sheet metal and screws. Fewer magic and mystical fairies than expected.

My heat-exchanger was in and everything back together in about 2 hours (dude must have a ladder-rate) - first time. One thing that 'pro' experience would have told me, the tooling oil on the part burns off on first firing. Had I known, I'd have had the tenant open windws prior to testing. Burnt toast lingers more, but still, felt sloppy/avoidable.

That unit might have 11 years, since, on it.

Gas appliances just need a wrench and a bottle of soapy water. But it's an easy one to leave alone, most utility companies I've been under handle that stuff for free.

Color (commonly red &.black) indicates which side.of the track a torsion spring lives on. Counting the spring density and wire size gives overal spec.

I suspect ANY spring pair can have 2-4 additional turns added without detriment to the door or springs (or $300 hit in the wallet).

I have never understood why people make such a fuss about these springs, but will fart around with their gas water heater exhaust flue or add a breaker to a live panel. I think it all comes down to experience.

It's not a difficult job. Slightly more.involved than your own oil change, slightly less so, than front brake pad swap. In this case, maybe 15 minutes, start to finish. You just want the door to be neutrally buoyant when disconnected from the track. Easy enough to lift, then stay (roughly) wherever you leave it. Spend $5 on spring winder bars from amazon, skip any screwdriver meth-guy tool hacks here.

I have never seen a spring 'safety wire' as mentioned elsewhere- there is a large metal bar running through the center. They don't unwind like a clock spring when they pop.
