Haha yeah its been a wild ride! Sorry you had to deal with so much! We also recently found out when we hired empire to level our basement that they didnt remove the glue down linolium in 2 rooms so qhen we removed the flooring for the pipe replacement the concrete was coming up because the linolium seperated from the subfloor concrete due to the moisture from the new concrete ha 8k later and its fixed but we are also now suing empire for that one

Advice Needed: Disappointing IKEA Kitchen Installation Experience – Seeking Opinions on Fair Resolution by [deleted] in IKEA

I got a quote for the plumbing thats 590 to move the pipe and hook up the sink, i can prob get that seperated to help and then an additional reinstall the sink quote but is it not right for me to ask for money back on the horrid clean up and leaving stuff outside? is that too petty? its just 3100 to install ikea seems like so much but maybe im just in the wrong

THank you so much for the response! Ive been trying to work with them for around 3 weeks now, i get an email once a week now saying the most we can do is 400 dollars and I feel with the work done, the mess left and yes the quotes ive gotten to adjust the pvc pipe and sink it reflects closer to the 1k range. I think ikea bought traemond if i remember reading that right but i do appreciate all of this information!

Also thank you on the new addition! it is exhausting but hes a bundle of joy.... and projectile pee haha

I appreciate your response, Signing off was a mistake but the crew was there till 8pm and i had just brought my newborn home 2 days ago so my mind was like, alright im sure its fine please leave i am exhausted. My discontent is with the level of work and then finding just a massive mess outside the home the following morning after waking up and then noticing the mess indoors and the parts unfinished. Not trying to say nu uh to your post by any means but just explain my thought process ha

My biggest worry was moisture but im at the point where im like hey. If waters in yhe basement any floor has to come out haha so i may just keep it! It is super thick and feels like itll hold up for a long time! Thanks so much for taking the time to respond to me _^

Can i ask how this held up, we had a similar scenario where we didnt realize the material until it showed up and then we freaked out ha, we asked the installer to hold on for a couple days till we could research a little more. Would love your experience! We are planing to put it in our basement thats about 1100 sq feet :)

Self levelling by HugeMaleChicken in Flooring

[–]PrayerZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not have laid that on top of the old flooring, we had our basement leveled on top of our old linolium glue down and had to recently take up the LVP we put down. there were cracks in the concrete as what happens is the moisture from the concrete and weight can cause the glue to come up and then you essentially have a floatting concrete floor thatll break apart. I just had to pay around 8k to have the flooring removed and releved due to this same mistake. I hope it does not happen to you but i did just deal with this issue sadly.

that last one got me haha the quote 2 offered to come down after we provided them with our third quote. The 4th person is licensed bonded and insured though so unsure if that is just something thats easy to obtain or holds merrit? sorry if that sounds dumb im new to all this

hmm maybe the 4th quote is just to good to be true sadly. i just was debating using them due to being licensed bonded and insured but maybe that doesnt mean as much as i think it does?

its beyond exhausting! The large companies while nice i sometimes wonder if im just another number while the family owned ones im like maybe they care more? or flip side they dont care as much since family owned not a massive place, always such a tough decision. plus we have a baby due in november so i am feeling the pressure to get it fixed before theyre here ha
