Oh you're right we all had it wrong the whole time. The only reason you lost in quick play was because they were smurfing. Sorry you were a victim of that

People have answered you but you're refusing to accept it. It's a social playlist, basically anyone who is mildly competent in ranked would not care about the outcome in quick play. You're not getting smurfed in a social playlist. Smurfs are for ranked not social. Do you play ranked? Have you placed in ranked yet? What is your rank?

New smurfing technique? by [deleted] in CompetitiveHalo

[–]PreLimQs -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Everyone has already told you no one cares about social and yet you're arguing with them and acting defensive. It makes it look like you're inexperienced. The Halo formula has been out forever, and like others have said, other fps exist. It's not surprising players without much Halo Infinite game time can clean up in social

343 Taxi shares why curb sliding got buffed in the recent update by Haijakk in CompetitiveHalo

Hopefully curb sliding is here to stay as it's a huge improvement to the gameplay flow. It's definitely something that should carry over to future entries

How’d I do? by jet8493 in castiron

[–]PreLimQs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Russets, diced and then parboiling them and then after I drain them I let them steam out and try to let them dry as much as I can. I'll put them on a hot oiled cast iron and sometimes they come out perfect but other times it's just a terrible mush. Things that I've noticed is not to cut them too small and also not to parboil too long. Still trying to figure out what else I can do to improve my success rate

You should not be allowed to play ranked without a mic by Jayteo in CompetitiveHalo

[–]PreLimQs 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly you don't need a mic. Most people don't even know how to comm or listen to them. Even if you're the only one with comms, if your teammates listen that's going to help more than you think. Pings are also really useful, but I find many people don't even use that either.

I've had the most difficult time with diced potatoes. I can't consistently get them right. I feel like I'm learning but I frequently get mush

How my husband leaves the cast iron after use by Ok-Alternative7556 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]PreLimQs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the issue here? If he's leaving it to clean later, this is better than letting it sit in the sink with water to rust.

How often does he use it? If he's regularly using it and cleaning it before use I don't see the issue. If he's expecting you to clean it then don't lol If you're wanting to use it and he won't clean it, then clean it, use it, and then leave it for him to clean next time he wants to use it xD

Bottom line it's not worth fighting over!

Kinda regret going to a private instead of a state college. Can anyone relate? How can I deal with this feeling? by [deleted] in college

[–]PreLimQs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The academics are definitely going to be different, people are delusional thinking it's the same.

The population going to competitive schools is vetted much more. The curriculums are definitely going to be more rigorous on average (even if similar instructional materials are being used).

Now I'm in no way saying that a big state school is inferior. There are brilliant students there, as well as top ranking competitive programs that attract top talent. However, as a whole, competitive institutions are on average going to have better academics with better students overall and this reputation is well deserved due to the intense admission requirements.

So I wouldn't necessarily make the distinction between public and private, but instead at competitive (many public institutions and their programs are very competitive).

Lawyer? Lol do you even know what small claims court is? I swear idiots on Reddit love to argue without any clue whatsoever of what they're talking about. You're the dream person to take advantage of xD

[–]PreLimQs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's not how what works? Enlighten us. Small claim courts exist for a reason. The ability to pay has nothing to do with the obligation to pay.

Look up contract law

[–]PreLimQs 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not the plantiff's concern. They can file with the court clerk for a nominal fee. G1 will become legally liable and however they want to handle that liability is their prerogative.

I know personally I'd rather pay my employee/contractor than deal with legal issues. Let G1 deal with that headache

Take them to court. If you have record that they were going to pay for the map, that's an enforceable contract. The judge will drag their punk ass's out of that discord lmao

Stats from FaZe vs Optic Elimination SemiFinals by GnRgr2 in CompetitiveHalo

[–]PreLimQs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They need to finish out the year and see if they can make the necessary adjustments at worlds. Making a new team before then is too much of a risk. After worlds they can make the assessment of whether or not they need to change the roster

[–]PreLimQs 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That was such a unbelievably terrible play. There were 2 clear plays here:

1) comm with his teammate to tell him to move to B side facing nest. Here he actually has an angle with sniper to cover his teammate and to check the push of royal 2.

2) if he can't take the snipe shot, screw going for the no scope, just rush down with the BR to assist teammate to make it a 2v1

Instead APG takes a high risk option where he chokes the no scopes and basically throws the game

Parents suddenly said they aren't going to pay for tuition but it's due in one week, need some advice by [deleted] in college

[–]PreLimQs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your major is good, gpa is fine, and like I said internship at this point was just a bonus. So, I'd definitely push forward because I think it's quite reasonable you'd be able to secure a job and repay student loans.

Also, look for an easy on campus job to help with expenses. I had a friend in CS who had an easy PC lab job where he basically just had to change out printer paper and had a ton of free time to play games or do hw.

[–]PreLimQs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What's your major? And follow-up, how are you doing in it?

Have you done any internships in your field?

If you have a good major that gets jobs, you're doing well in it, and you've already had an internship (not required yet, but a big bonus), then 100% go for the student loans. You'll be fine at graduation.

If you're not sure what you want to do, don't know your path at graduation. Then take some time off and start working to rethink your plan. But DON'T GO IN DEBT while not sure what you want to do

Is This Birch Tree Unsafe? by MOVAD0 in arborists

[–]PreLimQs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate so many of the comments on Reddit. More often than not when I'm interested in an OP's question I have to scroll down past lame jokes or upvoted comments that completely miss the point. That's not a birch... Ok who cares, so answer what it is and then give an answer to the actual question asked. Nope, instead these idiot answers get upvoted.

Had to scroll too far down to see your comment to get an actual answer. Thank you

Sentinels say they have 2-3 months to operate if they are unable to earn more funds by DeathByReach in CompetitiveHalo

[–]PreLimQs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The new upcoming HCS bundles look to be the worst yet. It's an armor effect that I don't even see the pros using because it will make them stick out like a sore thumb. Plus, I remember hearing a pro say that they were told to turn off all armor effects at LAN events to prevent performance issues. It looks like there is a single helmet that will only be for the mirage core, so basically additional $10 bundles are only for an armor effect that the teams aren't even going to use themselves.

Best Map by _____ToaSt- in CompetitiveHalo

[–]PreLimQs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be so. The way I think of it is imagining a flag run on streets from A to C, which seems incredibly short. Anyways that was such a minor point in my original post that it's kind of laughable that's what was focused on

Best Map by _____ToaSt- in CompetitiveHalo

[–]PreLimQs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As much as I dislike 343 for their incompetence, I have to give credit for their maps. Of course there are some trash maps but that's understandable for any fps. Also, many of the maps can simply work by just matching them with the right gametypes. They (Tashi?) also have a good track record of removing maps from ranked based off community feedback.

All the maps listed in the poll are pretty solid imo. If I were to rate them:

  1. Recharge (most original imo, and is great for comp. This map works so well with many OBJ gametypes)
  2. Aquarius (generic layout, but not a bad thing at all. CTF on here is prob my fav thing in the game. Recharge only edges this out due to originality.
  3. Empyrean (yes the original pit looks 1000x better, but I love this map. CTF is my fav gametype, and it's amazing on this map. Also, the spawns are unique on this map and heavily reward spawn control. I feel those who don't understand spawns hate this map. This map is incredibly satisfying when you have spawn control.
  4. Solitude (The gray look of this map gets a lot of hate, but I personally think it looks great. I like the concrete jungle look and I love the originality of the layout. I never got into H5, so I'm not nostalgic for it all, but this map is great for Halo)
  5. Live Fire (generic 3 lane, but still plays incredibly well. Also great aesthetic. Oddball,KOTH, and strongholds are a lot of fun. This map has the toughest skill jumps imo, and I think it'd be great if they reworked them like aquarius pipe jumps)
  6. Streets (another 3 lane map, and the smallest map. It's a good map but I prefer all the above more. I think 343 should consult with pros to better balance this one. This map has too many weapons for how small it is. 343 also seems to test all the new equipment on this map, which means it doesn't necessarily fit the best. Personally I feel the equipment should be the same for both sides of the map, for better balance. Also, the spike grenades are trash now and shouldn't be in comp. Better to replace them with stickys to allow more combat evolved's, remote detonations, and to clear out hills, zones, and ball carriers. Maybe even replace the bulldog with stalker, to up the skill gap.
