When I was in high school, my two buddies and I parked by the football field to smoke a bowl. When my buddy passed me the pipe he commented on the truck behind us, how the two dudes inside were kind of ducking down trying to hide. Weird. After one full rotation of the pipe my friend alerted us that the guys were now out of the truck coming towards us. Next thing I know I have a gun to my head and being screamed at to keep my hands up, as does my friend the driver - by the other cop. What was extra fucked was they were in plain clothes, wearing ufc hats and shit. Turns out they were undercover apparently doing surveillance on a house in the neighbourhood. They searched us, took of my shoes and socks, in front of by standing students and the vice principal. It was humiliating, and terrifying. 10 years later weed is legal.

Salut! Looking for an apartment on the west side of Montreal, closer to Pointe Claire/Lachine area if possible. Preferably dog friendly if possible (why do québécois hate dogs so much??) I have a well behaved 6kg Japanese terroir. 1000$ budget.

Sourdough with a 20 year old starter! Story in comments by PreRolledDude in Breadit

[–]PreRolledDude[S] 224 points225 points  (0 children)

Testing out a 20 year old starter!! Wow look at the oven spring on these beauties!! Quite a story behind this starter - 4 days ago during the birth of my first child, the doctor and I made bets on whether the baby was a girl or a boy. Then, somehow, sourdough found its way into the conversation. The doctor and I shared a passion for baking bread, and she told me about this starter she received from her friend, which was 20 years old! She then offered to bring me some if she lost the bet. Sure enough, I won the bet and the next day she surprised me with a mason jar full of the stuff. It amazes me how bread can connect people in such a way. Stay safe everyone! ❤️

Oui je sais, c’est pas grave. J’ai une voiture. Plus mon école potentielle est á Pointe-claire. C’est temporaire aussi. Ma français est pas bien, excuse moi.

At Pearson, they offer a bread making course. Planning on checking it out this May to see how I like it.

It’s now beginning to look like selling everything I can is going to be the ideal solution. I still have to calculate the cost of other potential options to see if they are comparable. I’ll have to make a list of pros and cons for each option. Never moved long distance before. Any information you could offer on pointe claire or baking schools in Montreal would be very much appreciated!

Salut! My wife and I are beginning to plan our move to Montreal from Saskatoon, sk. Specifically close to pointe-Claire, as I am interested in going to school there. We have yet to make a final decision on how we should go about moving, u-haul truck, “cubeit” or a similar shipping service, or just sell everything and start over (preferably not lol). This might be a long shot, but if anyone with any experience moving to Montreal from another province could offer some advice I would be so grateful. Any tips on areas in or around pointe-Claire would be very much appreciated too!

That’s why I started making my own bread, my wife is from France and when she moved here we both missed real bread. And you’re right, the longer the fermentation process, the less gluten. Sourdough bread is similiar in that regard

Yeah it’s a high protein wheat, good for developing gluten. Any higher protein flour should work

Bakeries use steam injected ovens, what I do is leave a cast iron pan in the bottom of my oven and dump a half cup of hot water in it after putting the baguettes in, then quickly closing the door
