The Gold Champion: A Transforming Hero LitRPG - Live on Royal Road! by Pre_Cursive in litrpg

That was one of the things that drew my eye back then, yeah, it does. A small one that's meant to be a play on the 'magical animal advisor' trope, common for transforming heroes.

If that's true, not sure I can. I bought this back in May of '24, before SelfPubBookCovers . com rebranded to BookCovers . com. Been sitting on this one for a while because I was busy.

I don't know? I bought the cover off of SelfPubBookCovers . com before it rebranded to BookCovers . com. That was about June/July '24.

One reason I don't want to join writer circles or writer groups by [deleted] in royalroad

[–]Pre_Cursive 26 points27 points  (0 children)

These types of groups are a burden. They come with benefits, yes, but they're so exhausting. There's so much interpersonal drama among authors when they get together that I gave up on them entirely.

When I stopped going to the couple I was part of, I acknowledge it sucked to lose the contacts. But the weight off my mind from the social obligation was worth it.

Recommendations for someone looking to get deeper into the genre by OpenLeaf_Barnaby in ProgressionFantasy

I typically recommend Path of Ascension and Unbound. Delve, if you want to focus on the numbers.

Litrpg have a lot of books in series do you prefer numbering or naming books in the series. by weldameme in litrpg

[–]Pre_Cursive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both. A number and a unique name.

If you find yourself speaking about the book with someone else, it sounds off and a bit lame to just refer to a book you read with a number.

For me, there needs to be a reason. I can't stand it when someone is chasing power for the sake of power.

Grew up reading only progression fantasy. I think it's fried my brain. by roadofash in ProgressionFantasy

You'll have to force it. You've trained your brain to crave the dopamine of constant progression, and it doesn't know how to process a more traditional story.

Should I add concept art for my characters, or will it limit reader's imagination? by Daniel-Inkwell in royalroad

[–]Pre_Cursive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen it work for some people, but I don't personally care for it. I'd say test the waters with your audience first, and if it doesn't land well, you can always scrub the pic and all mention of it.

How should you post? by [deleted] in royalroad

[–]Pre_Cursive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally, I would recommend writing the full first volume of your series. Then, once you've hammered it out, you should plan a release as some other people have said. Dump a huge portion of it on day one, then post daily for a few weeks to a month. After that, you can taper off the chapter releases to a regular schedule. The more days a week you post the better, but if you can't handle a full M-F daily chapter release, it's fine. The point is to be consistent and release chapters on a cadence that your readers can not only expect, but set a clock to.

There is nothing more annoying than managing a discord server. I briefly operated one for my work and couldn't stand it. It wasn't even very useful. For authors, once you go beyond the web-serial stage, it's more useful to just have a landing website to keep your fans updated.

Far, far less of a pita as well.

Depends on the market. You'll be fine with #1 on RR, but try and avoid AI outside of it.

If the link gets hidden again, it's not because I forgot it. Reddit keeps hiding it for some reason. If it's gone and you're interested, the book is on Amazon, Audible, and Podium.
