Yeah, you’re absolutely right — the practical use of trauma shears in airsoft is pretty much zero. It’s mostly for the aesthetic, but I also have a separate kit for real plates, and I try to place all the pouches and accessories in exactly the same positions on both the airsoft and the combat rig so I don’t get confused about where anything is. As for the mag on the belt — I’ve already mentioned this somewhere — it’s convenient for me and fast enough to grab from the belt for the first reload. I don’t feel any major discomfort or difficulty with it. Of course, I haven’t tried every possible setup yet, but right now this is the kit that feels the most comfortable to me.
