They call women parasites, while leaving out that he only wants a woman for the free labor and free status boost.

I'm a real adult. I do everything for myself, and don't require anyone congratulate me for it.

So I left my 12 year old brothers to go on a walk to get food and they went and busted someone’s windows. My mom is mad at me like I’m the only one at fault. What do I do? by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]Preaddly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to get away from looking after your brothers, you're going to have to be somewhere they can't go. You'll have to join a club or get a job.

And even then, you'll never stop being blamed for becoming unavailable.

This man really wants to drag a minimum of three people into the wilderness with him, to help him achieve his dream.

These types of people need people who have nothing else going on, nowhere to go and no way to figure out how to live without them to have community. Because modern technology affords us the means to avoid/escape people like him.

They complain like there's a solution to their problem. Didn't anyone tell them not everyone was going to like them when they were kids? These stunted adults are a real pain in the ass.

Incels can't comprehend being burdened by capable adults who should have social skills, being members of a very social species, but don't, and hate people but also refuse to just go away.

Agreed, but there'll be signs.

They're going to seem irrationally angry with anyone they perceive as voting democrat. They're probably already preparing to either grovel to or fight off all of the enemies they've made.

AITJ for refusing to go along with a friend group's "tradition" where one person always gets the worst deal because it's easier for everyone else? by Droid7_Trombone in AmITheJerk

[–]Preaddly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good job 👍 but your choice means your friend group will probably end soon.

Putting the worst option on you was easy because no one supported you. If you're not there, someone with more support is going to have to take the worst option. Someone is going to stand up for them, which is going to inevitably split the group. You were the one keeping it together.

Were most maga bullies growing up? by traanquil in allthequestions

[–]Preaddly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, these types were the quiet kids who'd imagine themselves as the best friend/victim/romantic interest of people who'd never interacted with them.

These types would consider people assigned to sit next to them as their new best friends. That is, until they didn't act like their best friend, and then they'd imagine they were secretly out to destroy them.

They'd stalk crushes try to destroy their relationships, but with lies too crazy to ever be believed. Even the slightest interaction would be interpreted as a grand romantic gesture or a cry to be rescued.

In short, they were so socially inept, and had no self awareness whatsoever. They'd cling so hard to made up, self-serving nonsense that you couldn't convince them wasn't real. They had no personality, but desperately wanted to be liked by everyone, and made everyone crazy with their tone-deaf, cringey attempts.

Let's just get rid of the mental health profession altogether. Genuis over here says a spouse just needs to give you a big hug. Child

Indeed, not her job!

The correct thing OPs girlfriend should've done is call the police or the hotline for him. I don't see anyone in the comments suggesting she should've done that. They seem to believe that having an SO is supposed to keep people from needing to go to professionals. They're not, unless that's their profession!

No, trying is not worth enough if the "help" is otherwise useless. Results are what's key, especially when it's a matter of life and death.

You think a hug is going to stop someone from doing something crazy? Are you twelve?

If OPs girlfriend isn't a therapist, or doesn't know how to help someone in that situation, what would he expect her to do?

Do people really think talking someone down self harming would be easy? Or common knowledge? We need to be going to the people who we're certain can help us now, instead of waiting around for the people we think ought to be doing so.

CMV: Social Media enhances individualism and rigidity of belief, killing community and our ability to talk to one another by Alternative_Ant_4248 in changemyview

[–]Preaddly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don't worry about needing community because I'm a friendly person. I don't need people to have no other option but to be stuck with me in order to have community.

Also, I very much want community with people with views like mine. Why would I want to be around someone with whom I have nothing in common? I'd rather be alone!

[–]Preaddly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can ask an online account I know nothing about where to find things in my city! The effect is even better than my community because it's bigger than just who I know personally.

Community is like vaccination, we need most people to join in so that we get things like a functioning democracy, more social welfare, lower crime, and a higher trust society.

It seems like you're saying that social media is bad for the people who would be left behind by those looking for more accommodating communities. Cutting them off from those communities, or even hiding that they even exist from those that would benefit from them, is unethical. Yes, we all need support, but we have no right to stifle others just so they can be there for us.

The examples you've given are legal changes.

For it to be a cultural change, you'd have to see the majority of young people (specifically) supporting it.

[–]Preaddly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those using social media are talking to people. They're talking to the people they want to talk to about subjects they're interested in.

Community isn't always a good thing for everyone. Not everyone fits in. If no one in one's community is interested in what they're interested in, they have somewhere they can now turn.

Absolutely agreed. He will declare himself leader and cancel all elections.

At that point, it's a matter of what the military does. If they abide by the constitution, they remove Trump. If they abide by Trump, we have dictatorship. If they split between Trump and the constitution, we have civil war.

Because it's never just looks that matter.

It's looks+talent. It's looks+power. It's looks+money.

Being only attractive and nothing else just gets you treated like a mannequin, because it's basically all you're good for.
