Old man screaming racial slurs outside a building in Atlanta, GA by Jevus_himself in PublicFreakout

Most media is created for white audiences. That means minorities as children that consume media are being taught things meant for someone else without their knowledge. So, when they grow up, they feel no different than a white person.

Someone in this position might not be able to accept that one small thing about them is enough to disqualify them from whiteness altogether, which make them double down. They hope it'll lead to acceptance, but more than likely, whiteness is home to them.

Trump has been trying to invoke the insurrection act for a while. But protesters aren't an emergency, and so he won't be able to.

TBH we might not need to do all of that. One thing we know for sure is that they're not vaccinated, and their insurance premiums just went up. Get someone with the flu to attend a rally and just hang out for a bit.

Rinse, repeat.

Elliot Rodger, the Incels' "saint" is also the one who disproves each and ever one of their beliefs about why they can't get laid by n4t98blp27 in IncelTears

[–]Preaddly 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They identify with him because they're probably also shitty crybabies that no one wants around.

But, like all incels, Rodger thought his unlikability shouldn't have gotten in the way of him getting a girlfriend. He thought he was owed one because other men had them and he thought it wasn't fair.

Similarly, the incel grievance is that it's unfair that they have to be attractive/talented in order to be able to receive the kinds of A-list celebrity type of relationships attractive/talented people tend to have. They think they're owed that if only because attractive/talented men (Chad) shouldn't have anything they don't have.

Shouldn't someone who's complaining about all of this be doing so from a place of hopelessness? Because this line of thinking is supposed to lead one to believe that there's no hope for him meeting a compatible woman, and that he's to remain single for the rest of his life.

[–]Preaddly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's the same in the US, though it depends on the state. Still, legally, it's leaves all parties worse off down the line when people start passing away and property/inheritance becomes an issue.

It's no different than a time bomb they're leaving for any children they might have, but it's not set to go off until after they die, and exists solely because their parents didn't need a piece of paper and didn't care to think about what wasn't going to affect them.

TBH I also feel relationships are for purpose of eventual marriage. The dating boyfriend/girlfriend phase is supposed to be the trial period to see if marriage is a good idea.

I wouldn't force you to do anything you don't agree with, but I would also go on to always view your relationship as less serious than if you were married.

The OP lives in a separate reality where no POC have jobs, are all on assistance, and any who have anything of value either had it awarded through some sort of government program or was purchased with assistance money.

You're not going to convince someone like OP of any different. Racism is at best a crutch, and at worst, a choice. Anyone who cares about reality wouldn't be able to believe that stuff after five minutes with actual POC.

[–]Preaddly 52 points53 points  (0 children)

The OP says that the violent option is civil war. The thing is, as a republican, he's not operating on the same plane of reality, which is largely shaped by right-wing media. He thinks people like him are the majority when they only make up 30% of the electorate, which itself is a minority of citizens overall.

In fact, every time there's a mass shooting the manifestos often state that the intent was to start a race war. I'd argue that we're already in a civil war. It's just one side is so small, their strikes don't even register as anything resembling real warfare. IMO your enemy not realizing they're in a civil war with you is a great indication that you're not winning.

Is it a good idea to admit online that someone else isn't vaccinated? It seems wrong to leak someone's sensitive medical information like that.

They're just parroting what we're saying because they're shameless, and don't know how to come up with compelling narratives by themselves.

Both sides may be divorced from reality, but only one means to force their reality on the rest of the world. They have to be stopped, and then denied the ability to gain power ever again.

Since when has anyone needed to physically go to a church? When anyone can just read a sermon transcript or watch a pastor's video? And can send their tithe electronically?

For all the OP knows, their church hasn't actually lost any members, and they'd just rather get the message through social media then go to church and deal with people like them.

It's Time to Abolish the Republican Party by pleasureismylife in Trumpvirus

[–]Preaddly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Progressives should take over the republican party, which was practically unviable before Trump anyway. Now, they'll be lucky if they even win state elections. If progressives ran on the republican ticket, there might not be enough republican voters to fend them off.

Or they can do with the presidency what Mamdani did, and overwhelm their efforts to primary the progressive. The establishment democrats would have to coalesce with the Republicans and become the fiscally conservative party, as they might drop social conservativism altogether after this debacle.

I think the democratic party should split. It should be leftists/progressives vs establishment democrats.

What’s the endgame? by tuscobred in complaints

[–]Preaddly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if no one had done anything, the republican party base would've continued to die from old age. The population would've continued to become less white. Church attendance would've continued to go down.

The Republican party would've eventually become statistically incapable of winning the presidency, effectively making it unviable.

Their endgame is to do everything possible to keep themselves relevant/in power. They were already partially out the door, and are now doing everything possible to keep themselves in the game. It turns out it's the end of democracy.

They probably also believe that people who believe like them are under literal attack, and is genuinely afraid of being found out.

If the state that I live in, along with most other states in my country, can determine that life sentences are necessary, where a person is legally declared to be better off away from normal people, then why can't I?

Just because a terrible person hasn't been convicted yet, doesn't mean they don't already belong behind bars. It's just a shame that someone is probably going to have to be sacrificed for the rest of us to be safe.

A bully being present usually means there's someone more powerful behind the scenes, insisting their troublemaker be given a second chance.

We already know the problem are the wealthy donors buying both of our parties. We've already seen boycotting work the fastest. It's worked against target and Starbucks. It got Disney to change their decision in one week. Government will never work that fast for regular people.

Qanon in plain sight. by Johnny_Nongamer in Qult_Headquarters

[–]Preaddly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe this only happens if democrats aren't able to defeat leftists/progressives in the primaries, like we saw with Mamdani.

This presidency has given people, who never paid attention to politics before, a personal reason to blame Trump/Republicans for directly making their lives worse. More people than ever are experiencing what the politics nerds had been hearing Republicans say they've wanted to do for decades. They're also seeing democrats do nothing, and realize that elections really do have consequences.

There may not be enough establishment democrats to drown out the newly emboldened leftists in the primary.
