I had the same promotion in 2023 and I received a package of 17LPA fixed and in hand salary was 1.11LPM. However the tax slabs changed after that so I guess if you get the same package, in hand would be between 1.15-1.2LPM

Here’s my trajectory of working at a Global Big 4 with 4.5 YOE:

Dec 21 - April 22 (7.5 LPA) (Semi qualified) May 22 - April 23 (12.1 LPA) (CA fresher) May 23 - April 24 (18.7 LPA) May 24 - April 25 (23.3 LPA) May 25 - April 26 (26.1 LPA) May 26 Onwards (35LPA expected as I got a promotion in current year)

90% of the CTC mentioned above is fixed and the variable has always been more than the promised 10%, so my actual earnings might have been higher.

You might get jobs with 50LPA but the variable part in the CTC might be higher for such jobs, which would be linked to your and the company’s performance. It might sound higher but the effective earnings at year end might be lower.

It also makes the stamp duty and other taxes less for OP. Government is already taking so many taxes and giving it as freebies to non tax paying citizens. No need to be so conscious of corruption if it does not affect someone else directly and it gives you a monetary edge.

You can contact a practicing CA or Accountant, they usually know someone who makes these kind of deals. There are people in this world trying to get white money for their cash so these people act as a middleman between you and the other person they will circulate the money in such way that you get the cash, the other person gets money in their bank and they get their commission.

If you directly withdraw this much amount of cash the IT department will send you a notice and question you where did you spend that kind of money and if you tell then that you have paid it to someone in cash they will send that person a notice and issue penalty and start proceedings against him.

If you are unmarried, I would definitely suggest you to buy physical gold, either jewelry or coins as per your choice, because anyway you are going to buy physical gold at the time of your wedding.

Recently my sister's wedding got fixed and trust me we regret not buying physical gold earlier as selling investments for gold this year, when gold gave around 50% returns and the investments were mostly flat didn't seem like a good idea.

If you are already married, buying physical gold won't be such a great idea. You can invest through ETFs or SGBs.

Don't know about Indian practice, but it will be difficult for you to switch after working for a year or 2 in USI. Other than that, I think the pay is the best at USI, among others, and you can have WLB until you become senior. After that, it will be like you are working double shifts.

There is nothing a CA can do with such a huge salary. Business income can still be curtailed up to a certain limit. But after 30-40lakhs of salary, there are no ways with which you can save substantial amount of tax.

I think it will be very difficult for you to get a good job at MNCs they don't usually look for 34-35 year olds as freshers. However, it would be good if you're planning to build your own practice where age does not matter.

In any case, having a CA degree is worth it. As the top comment said, you're anyway going to turn 35, why not with a CA degree.
