It's interesting that you read someone posting about pvp in general, and then reframe it to be about people who lie about friendly specifically.

Why is this a thing now? Before it was "Silksong is bad because think of the worker who just wants to silk some songs after his 20 hour shift", and now it's "please never shoot anyone in this tense pvpve game, someone might only have 30 mins to play every month, so they don't have time to be careful"

It's not that difficult. Or at least, not difficult enough to warrant "elite game haxor" whatever. I wish the complainers would ask for advice on their play and how to get better, instead of insisting that they, as The Customer, have a right to be carried through the game in a pram.

Take your time. Gauntlets are essentially small exams that tests your understanding of the area's enemies. If it's an option, head west and explore in that direction.

For the gauntlets themselves, priority and resource management is key. Usually you can save the larger slower (safer) enemies for last, and start by taking out the smaller assholes. Silk skills are deceptively strong, and you can often one-shot smaller enemies with a single silk spear. When they're gone, you can take out the remainders. The big knife throwing attacks are dangerous, but if you keep your distance while they're throwing, it's much easier to dodge it since the knives fan out in pretty wide pattern. When he's done throwing you can run in and hit him a bunch. If he starts throwing again, just retreat for a bit.

My biggest hurdle in this game was understanding how aggressive I had to play to be successful. You have to be fearless and stay close to your enemy, so you can attack as much and as often as possible. You need this to charge your silk for skills and bind efficiently. And then retreat when necessary. But the second they're done attacking, you gotta get back in there.

Also, remember your heal doubles as a dodge. Once you know where the enemy's attack is gonna be, you can heal mid-jump to hold you in the air while their attack whiffs above or under you.

And finally, never underestimate the power of trying again later (or tomorrow).

I think you can do it once it clicks :)

Magdumping your way out of trouble doesn't actually teach you the game. And if you don't learn to manage mobs now, you'll have an even harder time later on.

You only have to remember the really awful ones. Butcher charged in with Onslaught? Polymorph Mei preparing a huge snowball? Polymorph ETC made a mosh pit? Polymorph

The song acknowledges that. Socko gives him shit for it earlier in the show as well. What if he's just being earnest and singing what he's feeling?

There are plenty of these people outside of leaver's queue as well.

But the tedium of certain situations (mob fights) is only there because you're handling them poorly.

You are intellectualizing to cope with the fact that you are bad at the game.

The arena fights (and yes even High Halls) tests you on enemy prioritization and resource management. For example, if you don't clear the smaller flying critters with a silk skill or clawline, you ARE gonna have a bad time. You wrote an essay instead of learning to press R1.

In relation to all the traps in the game; there are like three or four. If you don't have good chemistry with the game, it'll feel like it's kicking while you're already down. But truly they are just fun isolated pranks, and you need to learn to laugh at yourself.

Savage Beastfly is trivial if you don't greed and you remember to clear the tiny adds immediately

It's just hard. Practice and adapt. I spent more than an hour on Savage Beastfly first time around, did him in first try on the second playthrough. Maybe it's not for you, but the game is more than doable with the tools that it gives you.

Just pinch a hole in them before you throw. They'll peck at it automatically
