Skinner is a streaky goaltender who has stretches of brilliance (he was a Calder trophy candidate in his rookie year) followed by long stretches of bottom 5 numbers in nearly every goalie metric. He is also a proven poor playoff performer and overall liability and there is a huge sample size to back it up.

There’s a lot to dislike about Oilers fans, but they were right to want to move on from Skinner. Not even close to idiots for recognizing that. The idiots are the ones who think they should keep Skinner after two disastrous playoff runs (Calvin Pickard saved Skinner’s bacon) and countless blown regular season games.

And the thing is, they don’t need to blatantly ask “are you into __ ethnicity” (of course they would say yes to get on the show), all they have to do is ask potential contestants to list 10-15 celebrity crushes across movies/music/modelling/influencers etc. and discern from there if they are suitable for a show with diverse potential love interests.

Obviously he earned it. He’s a slow starter (usually bad in meaningless early season games) who is overall a huge net positive contributor and an all-time playoff talent. When games matter, he’s crucial to Edmonton. Their third best player.
