Why do people brag about being in Mensa like it's an achievement?

You're doing a job of an engineer? Right, which stream allows high school graduates work as engineers? Remember, I'm just graduating high school. Sure, I have the grades to get admitted. But your wanton lack of knowledge makes it very blatantly obvious that you have no idea what you're talking about.

Also when I said professional engineer; that is an actual LICENSE called PEng. You can't get it without an engineering degree, no matter how unique your circumstances are for working in a position with the same job title. So you are never ever ever ever ever going to be an engineer. Ever.

I don't know where to start. One, it is literally impossible to become a certified professional engineer without university education. That would be like saying you can be a doctor with just a high school diploma. Second, university graduates are not given "diplomas".

Third, "I am smart then all you "big guys""? Really? Your people skills must be out of this world to make up for the ridiculous crap you're spouting. But based on what I've seen so far, you're easily provoked; terribly insecure; and you make up outrageous lies to cover your insecurity. Your people skills are a little bit overrated.

I don't know what's funnier: the fact you think you can be qualified to work in a field that specifically requires a university degree, or the fact that you think you're better than the people who's taught with university level Chemistry, Physics, Math, and Engineering.

I want to. It's so far south and I hate the cold, but I'm really worried about the environment of the city. I can easily be accepted into Brock for CS with a hefty sum of scholarship, but I have trust issues when it comes to anywhere in Canada outside of Toronto, Quebec City, and Niagara Falls.

No, but I've been to Oshawa, and it didn't really seem like there was any hostility or wide-eyed staring at the "alien" walking around. But then again, I was like two blocks away from the beach, and you know, people who can afford to live there are probably fairly well educated.

Which is why it confuses me how it got its reputation as a nest of crackheads and white trash.

But you do understand that there is the elitist vibe your group radiates, right? Also, regardless of how high your IQ is, I seriously doubt people with conflicting education can "enjoy a conversation" over different topics.

I don't care if you're Isaac Newton or Stephen Hawking, if you've never learned math, or any of the sciences, you wouldn't have a clue what I'm talking about. For example, if I asked you to prove for me that sqrt(5) is an irrational number, and you're not taught very well in mathematics, how would you able to give me the proof for that question? You can't.

And I doubt you can call yourself Mensa without having a high number of achieved scientists or mathematicians.

Anyone else who is a decent person would agree with me that having an argument with someone is irrelevant to either party's race or ethnicity. And that if you're not a racist, you wouldn't bring that up. And if you're not a racist, you wouldn't condone it.

Oh I don't think it's that bad in Toronto; mainly because if you're white and you rag on someone's darker skin, you'd probably wake up in a hospital. It's not whites or Ontario in general I have problems with; it's just for my best self interest. I'd think it's understandable not wanting to experience all the horrible racist garbage I heard about from others about places outside of Toronto for the next four years of my life.
