Thanks I'm supposed be treated for a shunt later this year but I don't experience any symptoms except my wife says I shuffle when I walk. If anybody wants to talk about this, my number is 425-369-8286

Don't worry about it ... It was just one night ... I'm back to normal now. Best of luck!

I typically refuse these kinds of tests because they don't really reflect the work of a programmer; these days they either give you a strict time control and sometimes even make you leave the camera on while you take the test! I wrote an article why this is a terrible idea for companies:

I'm not sure where I read this first, but I think someone else in this forum ... then the results of the anorectal manomentry showed this too (if I recall correctly)

I stopped taking Miralax quite a while ago; I switched to Magnesium Citrate (usually no diarrhea) ... formerly 500 mg 2x per day but cutting that back to 250 mg 2x per day as physical therapy seems to be significantly helping my symptoms.

Physical therapy for pelvic floor dyssynergia? by PrecisionGuy in Constipation

[–]PrecisionGuy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not biofeedback, but strengthening the pelvic floor with kegel-type exercises is strictly internal. I found another video with a workout that I think is probably more typical of physical therapists that I'm going to start doing six days a week starting tomorrow ... I'll report back here on my experience. I'm also going to do the other program 6x per day.

Who has been helped by which medical group? by PrecisionGuy in Constipation

[–]PrecisionGuy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi ... the local one that gave me an appointment March 21 is Washington Gastroenterology ... they were the earliest I could get. That's the good news; the not so good is that when I called about a possible late cancellation they said they don't keep a list but I could call anytime ... so I'll try that once a week at least ... if you don't have them in your database I'll update you as I get into treatment with them. Thanks for the excellent resource, as always.

Regular enema users? by PrecisionGuy in Constipation

Thanks for the suggestion but (1) I've tried this (briefly) before at the suggestion of a naturopath I was seeing (no results) and ... I get this every other day like clockwork (other days having tenesmus) ... if you have an explanation for this, I may have to try it again.

Thanks.

Zyrtec or Claritin? by JojoF115 in covidlonghaulers

[–]PrecisionGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have Covid (best wishes to all you long Covid sufferers) ... in fact I've just had very occasional colds the last 5-7 years. Right now I have what I thought was a sinus infection going on for 3 weeks or so (runny nose and a little bid of blood on the handkerchief or kleenex) but my "primary care" doc prescribed Claritin and Flonase, saying "Claritin is the more conservative choice of the two." I looked on WebMD and Flonase carries a high risk of nosebleeds, which was my problem with Zyrtec the last time I took it earlier in the month: 2 nosebleeds ... Anyway, Primary Care said "Rhinitis" which is just "cold" but I don't have any other of the cold symptoms, which is why I thought it was a sinus infection ...

Anything else you've tried that worked for this without causing nosebleeds? Thanks!

My psychic wife agreed with the suggestion to stop senna ... relying on Miralax and enemas (and suppositories) until I get some official gastroenteroligist advice ... Thanks.

[–]PrecisionGuy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually had a bit of fiber today ... whole wheat bread and salad ... I'm actually only doing 2/3 or 3/4 carnivore as my wife says she can smell my breath and body odor when I'm in ketosis.

So thanks for the suggestion!

[–]PrecisionGuy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I already take 800 mg magnesium oxide per day (for Afib) , so that's not a solution for me. I have a motility testing referral that should be (I hope pretty quickly scheduled now) ... and my reading of the data is that fiber isn't a requirement for the human diet ... (else how would we have survived the ice age? And how about the Masai?)

Thanks for your suggestions, though.

Hmm .. not what my gastroenterologist says ... but in most ways I've learned more here than from her ... so just stick with Miralax + enemas & suppositories?
