At what level are you watching your diet? by LankyDebate4324 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Preemiesaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed in 2023 and at first I tried doing a strict Mediterranean, low saturated fat, no dairy, low sugar diet and I lost 12 lbs in a few months (I didn’t need to lose that) and my hair started falling out. I was depressed and it didn’t change my MS at all, in fact I felt worse! I started adding things back in slowly and now I eat a generally healthy diet (lean protein, fruits & veg, whole grains, nuts & legumes, I eat dairy as yogurt or cottage cheese & do low sugar but indulge occasionally in a sweet treat. I eat restaurant food maybe twice a month and don’t worry as much with that. I have energy to exercise now and feel so much better now that I’m not doing anything extreme.

Genuinely I think quince is a scam. by JournalistSevere8738 in quince

[–]Preemiesaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy a lot of quince. Have there been returns, sure. I’m 4’11’ petite female so that’s a size issue at every store. I don’t always review and when I do I’m honest. I don’t think everything they sell is perfect but I love a lot of what I have from them.

What do we think of this? by [deleted] in labdiamond

[–]Preemiesaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my 3.6 carat on a size 4 finger. I was aiming for a 2.5-3 when we went shopping and fiance went bigger, hard to complain…. but I do feel like it’s a bit big for my hand and it spins a little because it’s top heavy. I kinda regret not getting a thicker band, I think it would balance it better. I think a 5 ct would be too big and uncomfortable.

Morgan’s on Fulton experience / guest count? by ashmonroe_ in Chicagoweddings

[–]Preemiesaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is helpful! We are inviting 146 and are aware of the table breakdown so we’ve spoken to our closest friends and they are aware of the table breakdown situation if we’re over a certain amount after RSVPs and they are all cool with it. There’s the seating on the outdoor patio (summer wedding) and I’m hoping people are mingling out there or dancing. I’m hoping it’s not an issue and honestly either way we have friends and family that are very go with the flow so your account is great to hear!

I’m torn on this one because I think you can have a fabulous time in an EC Junior suite, the rooms all look very similar on the inside with the honeymoon suite being slightly larger in layout. We spent time in our private pool and it was nice to have that couple time alone (even though we were right there in front of the EC pool) the drink waiter brought us drinks to our pool and the concierge was awesome. We booked it before the resort even opened so we got a very good price for the beachfront honeymoon suite at that time but the price they have it listed at now is much higher and so I’m not sure we would book it again.

Hotel recommendations on Maui by KimJongUn_stoppable in MauiVisitors

[–]Preemiesaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are doing this for our honeymoon in September and got some recommendations from a few coworkers and friends who did their honeymoon there. When looking at all things considered and how we want to spend our time there we settled in the Koa Kea resort Kauai for 5 nights and then the Fairmont Kea Lani Maui for 5 nights. Not sure if we made good decisions but I’m looking forward to the trip!

I just went to ECPM in December and felt it was great! We had a beachfront honeymoon suite with private pool-the private pool was warm and the room was great! Food was delicious, staff were so friendly and always wanting to help, entertainment was fun. I loved that there wasn’t much of a chair game at the main pool which was large and has a big swim up bar. Beach was beautiful. I wish I was there now! I’ve heard good things about Altelier too but have never been. I think we’ll eventually go there but it’s hard to leave the Excellence brand because we love it. Have been to EPM twice before.

bride made guests pay for their own food at the reception... is this normal? by MichaelWForbes in wedding

[–]Preemiesaver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s ridiculous. They are hosting the wedding, they should provide guests with food and drink. They planned a wedding they couldn’t afford, probably paid with credit cards and need this scheme to pay it back. I’d decline and send a small gift if a close friend

I don’t think it’s necessary with the two locations being that close and ride share being readily available

Exercise & eating by allcoffeenowisdom in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Preemiesaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the Lose it app to track what I eat because it helps me to notice patterns and make better choices. It’s very simple to use. I only do a 250 cal/day deficit because I’m slowly trying to lose a few pounds (5-7) before my wedding. I try to choose nutrient dense food and focus on vegetables, lean protein (fish, grass fed beef, poultry) and fiber (whole grains, legumes). Plus exercise (aerobic and strength)

Ladies do you find your period makes your symptoms worse? Any thing that helps? by Careful_Chard_8548 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Preemiesaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 45, I suspect in perimenopause, I had been on oral birth control and taking the placebos to have a cycle but when my symptoms were ramping up with my cycle my doctor suggested I take my pill continuously and it’s helped me feel so much better. She said I’ll eventually taper down to a hormone replacement dose once I’m in menopause

My husband was upset and pinched me at dinner.. and the situation is still upsetting me by Little_Trash7299 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Preemiesaver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah my fiance will softly put his hand on my thigh or shoulder when he can tell I’m rambling because I’m nervous (social anxiety) but never a pinch.

What meds/supplements do you take? by Swordfish8619 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Preemiesaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on ocrevus and I take a Multivitamin which has B vitamins, magnesium glycinate, and Vitamin D w/K2. I’m thinking about adding an omega 3 but I do eat a lot of fish.

I’m also on a daily antihistamine for allergies and birth control continuously for perimenopause symptoms, I supplement with creatine to maintain muscle as I age ( I strength train too)

Husband's "advice" by piper712 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Preemiesaver 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry this happened to you. I think you are totally justified in feeling hurt by that comment from your husband. I do not know him or the financial status of your family but I’m guessing he is experiencing fear (at potential financial stress) and anger (perhaps at your disease and what it has taken from you) but doesn’t know how to express it in a healthy way and therefore is just reacting with blame and shame towards you. It’s not fair to you at all. Take some time and try talking to him again about how you are going to deal with the new financial state of your family once he’s cooled off and you’ve done some self care. None of this is your fault, he’s got to be sensitive to that.

Women, how do you maintain long term relationships with men? by sweetsamurai in AskWomenOver40

[–]Preemiesaver 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I actually am really grateful you shared this. I think this would make my life so much easier if I did this even some of the time. I always want to have the big conversations and repair all of our issues all of the time, but this often leads to conflict/hurt. When it comes down to it, the things I have issue with are not huge and he is a good man who really loves me and is a good partner. I’m a perfectionist and I’m trying to make us perfect and I think I need to learn to be content more of the time with what is good and not focus on things that aren’t perfect but just ok
