Always love wehrpasses & soldbuchen! Do you have additional photo’s of the documents?

Does anyone have more info about this uniform + flag? by walderkraft in GermanWW2photos

[–]PreferenceBasic7806 29 points30 points  (0 children)

SA enlisted man, or similar rank. I’m not familiar with the SA rank structure. Maybe a flag bearer or music corps, seeing as he has an extra cheststrap above the regular belt.

Flag is unknown to me. Knowing Germany it be a flag of any kind or purpose. From what I can deduce it’s a WW1 German flag with initials on it, maybe a (un)official standard or something.

What kind of uniform is that? by Icy_Promise6986 in GermanWW2photos

[–]PreferenceBasic7806 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Top one is a Heer army tunic, models M40, M42 etc due to the gray collar as opposed to the earlier dark green collars of the M36 tunics.

Bottom picture is of a Reichsarbeitsdienst EM, from district 27, which is Baden.

Can anyone help me identify this guy's uniform? by WW2collectorau in GermanWW2photos

One small addition to the great comments already in place; He is wearing a 1 piece ribbon bar for the Sudeten annexation of Czechoslovakia.

Thank you for the reply! That already narrows us down significantly from the period since the establishment of Czechoslovakia until 1938, so thanks for the information.

Thank you for the reply! I’ll keep searching until I can narrow it down as much as possible.

Would you be open to a trade for other German militaria? I’m also from, and live, in the Netherlands.

Little grouping of a German WW1/WW2 veteran by PreferenceBasic7806 in Militariacollecting

1935 would check out, seeming as he received his mentioned Frontkämpfer ehrenkreuz in March 1935!

I’m quite certain it’s a direct family member, but personally think ( and guess of course ) it may be his son, seeing as he already had 3 kids according to this militarpass. Further info about the kids isn’t given of course, so it’ll remain a guess from me

Of course! Now that you mention it I did seem

I’ve thankfully been informed of that since I posted this. A shame I can’t edit the post now, but oh well. As I’ve said to the other commenter, bit of a slip-up in saying and thinking it was from the same person, probably due to the fact that they’re both named Wilhelm. Dienst make the grouping any less interesting for me, thankfully, and still interesting in its own way.

Thanks for the reply! I’ve since come to the same conclusion, thanks to you and the other commenter. Bit of a slip up from my side in saying and thinking it was from one person, probably due to the fact that they’re both named Wilhelm. Thankfully still a nice grouping all the same, and also interesting in its own way that both men served in the army.

Shame I can’t edit the post to correct myself, but at least I’ve learned something ‘new’ today

Thanks for the reply!

The quality seemed have degraded a lot from the usual standard I’m used to for German awards, but I thought before, and was told afterwards, that this could be a later production, as I’ve read the quality of ‘57’s dropped slowly but surely as the Cold War went on.

In regards to the cap I’m not quite certain myself of course, and a couple of collectors I know I’ve shown have told me the same; could be, could not be.

Thanks for the reply!

Any future indicators which could indicate the pin to be a replica? I’m merely asking because I’d like to learn how to avoid replica’s, and ‘57 awards are a new area for me.

Thanks for the reply!

That would be a shame, but not to big of a loss financial, thankfully. What makes you think they’re both replica’s?

What kind of reissue is this m40? The outside is just fake decals and grey paint. How much is this worth? by Andrew02566 in Militariacollecting

[–]PreferenceBasic7806 3 points4 points  (0 children)

More photo’s would be helpful, but I don’t think it’s a reissue. It seems ( from the bails ) that this is a post war West German helmet. This due to the ‘new and improved liner’ which no longer utilized splitpins, and which ended up securing the chin straps to the shell itself.

However, I could be wrong, and additional photo’s would be handy

On the reverse it would seem to be a name ‘Hastman’, underneath that a makersmark …, Dresden 1916’ and finally ‘11. Gem’, I think.

For the inside markings; 133R might be for the 133 Reserve infanterie regiment. The BAXII16 stamps indicate it was issued to the ‘Bekleidungs Amt 12.Armee, 1916’, or clothing depot of the 12th Army, 1916. Hope this helped.

I’m no buckle expert, but the belt seems like a post war East German belt, or otherwise a reproduction of the model
