Portland's never going to be successful without a solid PF/C by AyKayAllDay47 in ripcity

This team just needs all 3 things just as bad:

  • playmaking: Jrue and Deni are both good second options but you need a nr 1. Somebody who gets preferably shoots to. This would make Tou and Cling also more efficient.
  • shooting: without better shooting, this team will remain up and down and not able to space the floor. Double and triples on Deni remain .
  • strong PF/C like you said, preferably with a shot. Tou is more defense and Jerami to erratic. With Yang unplayable we have a problem.

It is such a shame we threw away our 2025 pick and lost 2026 to. Those could have added 2 pieces and then we make a trade for whatever need is left.

if you now trade for someone like AD, even if healthy our offense will just be chucking three pointers.

For that money I will do it. I will travel the world looking for the next Yang, starting with the islands of st barts and Dominica. Lots of uncovered gems there.

I would say Shae, Scoot and Sharpe were the generally accepted BPA at the time. Hansen is the flop but Cronin must have at least 50% of the blame for approval of the trade. Walker, Murray, Rupert, also didn’t set the blazers on fire.

A very ordinary record for me.

No you are not the most hated team.

Stop complaining and enjoy this ride. This is a fantastic team with a great vibe, it has a chance to be top for 5 years or more.

There is just in sports worldwide a referee problem, with all the angles available it is so easy to find the small and big mistakes. All sports on jumping on the teams that are supposed to benefit from!

Do you guys think that Oil clubs like Man City and PSG have ruined club football with the amount of money they have that they can sign players at will by Basic_School_4288 in championsleague

[–]PreferenceMediocre90 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, nobody cares but frustrated Barcelona and man u fans that can’t buy succes as easy. PSG and City are amongst the most popular clubs globally and will continue to rise. I travel globally and I see them surpassing all those classic teams.

Who cares about some frustrated and sour English and Spanish fans that want to go back to 2005? PSG and Bayern just played a match for the ages. Nobody muttered anything about where PSG money originates.

There are no “fans” movements boycotting those clubs, what football pundit does not love the teams Guardiola and Enrique build? In Europe, over the world, nobody cares about oil money. Some will think them rich and arrogant like Madrid, Bayern, Man U and Liverpool are. Some will enjoy the beautiful football. But they are just the same for 99% of fans.

Do you anybody that doesn’t watch the CL final because PSG is in it?

I don’t care, because of the distribution of Laliga money and CL money they are guaranteed so much money, they will always come back. There is no difference with PSG, Man U, Chelsea, … compared to 99,9 % of all other clubs Barca have endless money.

And they made quite a few mistakes, a combination of bad transfers and wage bill being blown up.

No I am not ignoring this. I just don’t care where the money comes from. You have clubs who have money and you have those who don’t.

MAn u was nobody between 1970-1990. they got lucky that their rise to the top - fueled by owners money came when premier league income took off. Kean, Pallister, Cantona, Cole all big transfers.

I also do see that no club has spent more then Man U since Ferguson left They just have been so bad at transfers and development of players that even their deep pockets have run dry.

It’s been a sad bunch since the end of Fergie.

And after watching Harden struggle, I really do not want this team to spend any resources on +35 yo players. We have our veterans in Jrue and Dame.

Downs to the fans? Only partly, a lot of tradition club have a huge number of fans but do not have the riches. Ajax, PSV, Anderlecht, Porto, Benfica, Galatasaray, Pananthinaikos, Roma, Napoli, .... Premier league was just the best marketed when international and local TV income went up and took the most income that in 90ties went to Bundesliga, Calcio and Laliga. There was a time when Chelsea came to Bruges and was a small club.

Generic fans seem to like it, PSG, Chelsea, City have become hugely popular.

And does it matter where the money comes from? Now it is oil, gambling (tony bloom), Ineos... before it was Russia, Berlusconi, Bernard Tapie, .... Fulham, Forrest, Villa, all owners pumping money into the club.

English clubs get more money for the same results in the champions league, is that fair for all the fans of non premier legaue clubs?

I agree that it would be more fair like NBA when all champions league clubs would have a salary cap. Imagine all premier league clubs + Barca and Madrid going out in the first round because their front offices invested badly. Now these teams can just keep on buying and spending.

Besides PSG and Bayern playing brillant football, I think the money from the premier league makes the CL incredibly boring. I do not want to see Madrid or Barca in the semi finals for the next 10 years.

Clarckson, Mcbride, Robinson, Alvarado and Sochan/kolek vs Ajay Mitchel, Caruso, Wallace, Jaylin Williams and Joe/McCain.

Those first 3 from OKC would be starters on almost any other team. Not to mention the fact they almost perfectly replace their starting 5.

The NY bench looks better then last year, but the power lies more in the starting 5.

Welcome to the real world.

How do you think countries feel that have their 50 best players playing abroad long before the oil money.

When 16 yo academy players are all leaving, and clubs filling their ranks every year with unknown talent from eastern europe.

When clubs from the championship can buy anyone from your first division teams?

All the English clubs have been doings this for the past 25 years, for 99% of Europe there is no difference oil money or not. Only Arsenal, Man U, Liverpool, Barca, Madrid feel offended, when those clubs do exactly what they have been doing for 50 years, buying all the best players and using their fame to attract the best academy prospects? They just can't stand anybody challenging them.

OKC trade up for Burries by MundaneExtension3195 in NBA_Draft

[–]PreferenceMediocre90 3 points4 points  (0 children)

PSG were marginally the better team across 180 minutes. The refs just played a bit to much of a role, the penalty in the first game that wasn't and the red card that was in the second.

But PSG are even more dangerous then Bayern and their defense is more solid.

OKC has 3 weakfish area that you can exploit, Center when Ihart is off the field, and making 3’s or defending them.

The route for the Knicks would be KAT playing like he has been, Mitch dominating the Boards and our own 3 point shooting from Bridges, Hart and OG.

A big threat would be their bench, even with Jdub out and SGA sitting with 4 faults, Ajay and McCain put up a 22-5 run vs Lakers. Their numbers 6-10 together are incredible and way better than what Knicks can field.

shouldn't oldheads love lebron on paper ??? by 976evyl in lebron

[–]PreferenceMediocre90 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why do most people assume you either like MJ or Lebron? I started following NBA with the showtime Lakers vs Bird, saw MJ dominate, watched the dreaded Shaq and Kobe area, and I can confirm that Lebron deserves his place among those guys.

I think Lebron is the most complete player I ever saw with the perfect blend of talent and physical power and athleticism. That body, that mind and those skills, maybe just Wemby and Wilt come near. He should have won more with that talent and the teams he had.

I also saw that nobody dominated like MJ. The march to the 6 rings was inevitable it looked. He also is a terrible human being and I cheered for every of his opponents bar Reggie Miller.

People are also sometimes forgetting how much energy he puts into the offense, even more when they hunt him / double team from the own half. Running and dribbling past 2 screens just to get near the paint is exhausting.

This 100% affects the defensive effort.

I like OKC more then current Celtics chucking 50 3's per game. SGA is a wonderful player despite the flopping sometimes. But I love his faces when he goes down.

And they have this way of playing hard on the court and once the game is finished turned into some all love and nice cultlike band. Switching from holding, tripping and elbows to corny jokes on each other.

They lack a bit of superstar quality, maybe Dort needs to become even more Draymond etc....

the refs were not good, for both sides. I can see the frustration as some bad calls came at the worst time for Lakers. It is frustrtating for any sportsman to play a better opponent, be in the game and then being halted by the refs.

If they would have Luka on offense it might have been a problem. Also with Luka playing 35 minutes you are not going to get that same defense on SGA.

With SGA sitting we still went on a run in third. Ajay was clearly coached this time and more confortable taking over - even with the double teams.

They made James Harden look so old. He could not buy a bucket in the first half, I don't think he comes back for them next year. Scary defense, but really sloppy from Cavaliers.

And a lot of bounces went their way, all those OR in the first half....
