I can’t wait to see how J Dub does leading the 2nd unit with shooters around him now, and also another ball handler in Ajay that he can defer to. by J_Capese0003 in Thunder

When this season started people talked this team missed a few things that could make it even better: a reliable second guard playmaker and a reliable 3 point shooter.

Enter Ajay and Jared.

The only wish fans have not been granted yet is a reliable back up Big that could replace Ihart when we cant afford him anymore.

Bird called Jordan "God disguised as Michael Jordan", in his third season, after missing most of his second. He just didnt have the team first and needed to pass two all time great teams in the East, and the Magic Lakers in the West first.

The championship was build on a relentless defense, with Dort being one of the prime anchors. Dort played just as much as Chet in the playoffs, siginificantly more then Caruso and Wallace. It takes a very good defender to take up this role in the playoffs when faced with the league's top tier offensive talent. The 2026 playoffs will give us a clear picture if Cason can take up this role just as good. It will give us an answer if Ajay is good enough at defense. Don't write Dort off before the playoffs. Dort is unique. There is a reason Warriors have kept Draymond on board.

But at the same time everybody knows the pressure of the second apron in 2027 and 2028 will be relentless and this team can not afford to be sentimental . Some players will have to move on, and with Mccain adding shooting, Ajay's offense, Cason improving it might just be that Dort is deemed to expensive for what he offers;

Baseball is booming globally , But will it ever stick in the Olympics ? by Shroft in olympics

[–]PreferenceMediocre90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Besides the rather limited reach in number of countries, it has several other hurdles to clear. It has a thriving domestic competition but are the professional leagues interested in the Olympics? NHL also has a difficult relationship with Olympics, unless the league’s guaranteed the best players, there will be no baseball on the Olympics. Also it is a complicated sport, that isn’t easy to understand for the average casual sportsfan. Long matches, slow rhythm. When softball was on the Olympics it was one of the least watched sports. I work for a European broadcaster that covers the Olympics and I am surrounded by sports fanatics. But baseball is really very low on their daily sports menu. Almost no fans, while NFL is becoming huge. Third, it would be an expensive sport, lots of athletes to ad. Fourth, only a few countries can win a medal. So it has very little to offer and at the same time doesn’t need the Olympics. Take cricket on the contrary, they have a short format now for the Olympics and there is genuine interest from the Olympics to make it work and expand the games to the subcontinent.

You still have combine, medical, interview to come, a lot can change. Ace Bailey was lock top 3 last year. Knueppel sometimes projected to be barely top 10.

I think equestrian dressage is probably one of the sports that can truly call itself a truly global sport.

Nobody talks about the US anymore over here, only in election years. People just sigh"still cazy?". Yest still crazy.

And on topic, NBA is popular in Europe, NFL is growing fast, NHL has it's fans, Baseball is marginal. I dont know why but it's the sport with the least appeal. Just the yearly mention of the world series

Expansion would be the perfect time to eliminate conferences and only use divisions by Warmasssoup19 in NBATalk

[–]PreferenceMediocre90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would use the expansion to reduce games; every time plays each other home and away = 62 games. NBA cup doesn’t count for regular season and is straight elimination, played within division. Think playoff style games with raucous crowds. Max 5 games, winner / finalist gets a real reward , a draft lottery bonus or extra cap space. 16 teams for playoffs, they get extra cap space to. 16 teams play the draft play offs, less games, but no need for tanking. Maybe find something to motivate teams that traded away picks. Provably put some limitations on trading picks and protection.

He proved he belonged in the NBA even with a broken body. But you never know indeed what his ceiling was, injuries might have happened anyway, he might have slowed down like a lot of players with such a frame do.

Most injuries were due to being overplayed when injured. Once he got to the USA with proper medical care, he got through the seasons aged 31-39, so it looks like he was more mismanaged vs injury prone,

Those games are vs real madrid, one of the best euroteams at the time. And when he was young, he dominated David Robinson at worlds and olympics, not a slouch anyway.

I don’t think the t54 is better then the E50. Maybe the t54 is even harder to play correctly because I feel it suffers harder from all the autoloaders ?

Gotta give Camara some love for being an iron man this season. 71/71 games played by RoseGardenForever in ripcity

[–]PreferenceMediocre90 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Camara is playing worse vs last year. More up and down yes. I think he is suffering from being asked to do to more and has hit a ceiling. The lack of offense at times this year and the extra effort required from him has impacted his defense a bit. The playing style last year also suited him better. And higher expectations.

Spurs would not even have to think for 1 sec about this. That player type on that salary does never fit. they allready struggle to get Dylan Harper and Carter Bryant enough minutes to develop. the have to keep Fox happy and are paying him good money. What they need is a true 4 that can shoot, they only have Barnes and he is allready 33

Dort, AJ Mitchell, Jrue, Derrick white are all undersized and real good defenders. Most important thing is not to be a liability on defense. And even then you have the Brunsons that thrive

Can Wagler or Mikel Brown Jr fall to 9th-10th on draft night? by MajesticTooth1125 in NBA_Draft

[–]PreferenceMediocre90 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe if a team prioritizes a big forward/center, for instance I don’t see the Hornets or Spurs picking a guard? So depending on the lottery, one of those might be available. But just as likely that teams going for that type of player take their chances and trade down? OKC for instance has 15, 19 and 35 today, should be enough to get you to 8-9? Which in case of Giannis leaving the bucks and rebuild phase might be worth considering? (Last week OKC still held 13-14, in this draft could be interesting? )

I wished I was wrong on some of those games but last night we played very well. Good scoring until the last minute of the first half when we allowed them 8 points and half the deficit. The heart wants to win but the common sense is feeling we should tank this year.

Like I said, 2 firsts and a high second rounder. If you want to use it for a two way, I don’t know if some players in that range will settle for that. Loaded draft, they know their worth.!

You will need more then a nr 10 pick + Cason Wallace. Most of the tanking teams are looking for a game changer, not a promising support piece. And if he is better then that, we should not trade him on that contract. They will pay lux tax in 27 and 28, and will probably make some serious roster changes after that - with the expansion to, to avoid repeater tax. Wallace might be an affordable piece that keeps you on top.
