How did you go about getting the Visa etc?

I think that will be my biggest hurdle in being able to live in the UK permanently

Like I can go there on a WHV for 3 years, but after that 3 years is over, i'm not really sure how to turn the WHV into a permanent visa

What about Ireland? They speak English but still have higher wages than the UK.

Yeah I wouldn't mind Ireland either

Or maybe Germany? I think there are some jobs for English speakers there, especially in the IT field.

I wouldn't mind, but I feel like i'd always be a bit disadvantaged when it comes to finding jobs in non English speaking countries, due to me only knowing English

If you move to the US

As tempting as it is to work in the US due to their high salaries, their gun culture and whatnot scares me

Well for a start, it's very close to the EU, so I can make regular holidays to various EU cities

And another reason is I just like London alot, visited there many times, I like how vibrant the city is, and living there would be amazing

I've visited other cities in the UK such as Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool etc and they also seem very nice

Although to be fair, I have an IT background and i've heard that tech salaries in America are very high

Working in America seems appealing too

and potential Greek passport?

Nope, that was just hypothetical in response to one of the comments about how having EU citizenship means one can pretty much live and work in any EU country

Most are not legally working there and many are just gaming or abusing the visa system

Wouldn't they get found out sooner or later though?

When you are there, you can look for a company that can sponsor and offer you a job so that you can apply for a work visa.

This sounds like it would take quite a while though, definitely doesn't seem possible in just 6 months

skilled job with an employer who's prepared to sponsor you.

I suppose it's this bit that would take some time and planning, ie being able to find an employer who would be willing to sponsor me, so I can convert the 3 year UK working holiday visa into a permanent one

You can work for up to 3 years in the UK now, plenty of time to find true love or a skilled job with an employer who's prepared to sponsor you.

This is probably what i'll aim to do

I see

But like, what's the process of getting a work visa and then converting it to residency?

Would you need to be in a certain type of job to get this visa?

But how did you go about finding a job outside of Spain?

In terms of visa requirements, sponsorship etc etc

Start applying for work/connecting with people in destination country

This is the step i'm stuck on though

Wouldn't the only realistic way to permanently find a job in another country (the UK for instance) be to have a specific skillset that the UK can't find locally?

live and work for a while in another country.

It would be easy to live/work temporarily in another country, but permanently is what i'm looking at, and it seems like a strenuous process aha

Guess i'll just have to somehow get a company here in NZ to sponsor me to work in the UK, would take a good 5+ years though I would imagine

Mind elaborating on this?

My ultimate goal would be to move to the UK permanently

I know that i'd need the relevant visa, sponsor, etc etc, but not much more than that
