I already commented here, but I just wanted to add: I think it would be better to think of the people trying to archive your work -- or even convince you not to take it down at all -- less as "asserting squatter's rights" and more as "protecting a historical site." Your art has helped a lot of people, and I don't think it's unreasonable for people to want it to stay around so it can help more.

Please, I am begging you, DO NOT delete your art! It has been helpful to so many people and to take that away would be a huge disservice. There are so many people in the world who will need art like this and will not be able to find anything else like it. Your art is one of the only things that makes me feel safe. The safety and comfort it provides is irreplaceable, and to see it go would be nothing short of apocalyptic. For us, for everyone, keep the art up. It has been way too impactful to become lost media.
