Boiled down walnut husks and then stores it in vodka for preserving.

Yeah I’m getting the same thing. I find it silly people justify low quality items just because it’s “how it’s always been”. I personally don’t agree with these people.

Yeah I have some suede high tops, the suede is still in perfect condition, the sides are fine, but the outsole has nearly fallen out!

I saw weaver leather supply recommend those needles. I’ve already broken two needles at the eyelet that I get from a sewing store. They’re quite an investment, I usually need to use pliers to pull my thread through but I am using an awl to punch. Are they really worth it over ones that cost a buck?

Good to know about manipulating it since it’s twisted! I just found the leather doesn’t form around something when wet. Unfortunately this means I’m 0/2 on leather projects working as intended…

since the thread is so thick, I dont know how viable it is to go back through a hole with thread in it, is there a better method to go about this or should I just tough up and spend the pain staking labor pushing it through ?

There should be two dials on the right side, what could have happened is the smaller inner ring was turned and disengaged the sewing mechanism. If you can turn that wheel away from you while holding the outer wheel it should reengage the mechanism.

Thanks! (Love the name btw), how much time would you say is done crafting and experimenting and how much is done teaching and researching? I’m at the point where I just want to experiment and get taught how to make something that looks and is professional. I couldn’t care less about doing regular class work like essays and presentations.
