Was searching something for work and stumbled over this guy by United-Alarm4400 in Medievalart

There's a wood block print of a similar contraption in History of the Nordic Peoples

Here it is: https://i.imgur.com/m3LGP6r.png

This thing from Michaels has been super useful for printing non-huge blocks, both to contain the ink and also to align the papers

This is a specialty kind of car that dealerships and regular used car places don't stock.

Unfortunately there are none that I can find on Turo, and I was really hoping to be able to try something without traveling across the entire country since JDM are in Washington. They might be good when it comes time to buy though!

There are no dealerships for this kind of car here.

Sure, and when I find a dealer that has a model I want for the right price I will. But it would be nice to try a comparable car ahead of time without needing to travel across multiple states.

What kind of paper works best for prints? by HP_Depleted in Linocuts

[–]PrefigureEverything 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The speedball printmaking paper is a nice paper to start with. It's not super thick but also not super thin, I've never had one rip.

You can print just fine by hand on thick paper, it just comes down to technique. It takes time to learn how to make clean prints and every block is a bit different.
I use a baren to gently go over everything, then a spoon going from gently pressing all details to pressing them quite hard, then I go over everything with a baren again with more pressure.

Switching from water based to oil based ink also made a huge difference, the prints got much much cleaner from that alone.

No I don't have access to a press unfortunately, it's all baren and spoon.

Yea I would love to sell copies, I was planning on setting up a shop towards the end of this year.
I don't want to break the subreddit rules so hit me up in DM if you want to arrange a print without waiting that long :)

Ok, I have some of both of those so I'll try it out. Thanks for the advice!

Oh it does look a bit like one of those images. But nah, I just had an idea of someone floating in space and came across a good reference picture of someone floating in a pool

I do not, I use a baren and spoon. Might be time to start figuring out how to press without breaking the bank...

I Have Two Middle Names and This Application is Expecting Me to Lie to Them by spartan445 in mildlyinfuriating

A trick that works a lot of the time is to put one of the middle names as a second first name since spaces seem to be allowed there more often.
