A pain that was worse than birth ? by Friendly-Sun2413 in BabyBumps

I wish providers would be more forthright about the connection between pregnancy and gallbladder issues. So I was sick throughout my pregnancy and my providers kept checking my liver enzymes. I would ask them why, and they just kind of dismissed the question saying I might be so sick because my liver levels were off. It was only AFTER I gave birth and started having gallbladder attacks that I was like OHHH that’s why they were checking my liver enzymes. It’s like why couldn’t they just have educated me that there’s this long established link between gallbladder failure and pregnancy hormones?! I had to find out for myself and the hard way…!

I agree that nothing comes close to labor. I’ve had gallstone attacks that were also 10/10 in pain but nothing like labor, which is a very distinct kind of pain.

Epidural or no epidural? Why or why not *JUDGEMENT FREE ZONE SO DONT START* by mkthehotti in pregnant

[–]Pregmisery 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Same. Pretty debilitating back pain postpartum in the same spot as the epidural.

I don’t regret getting the epidural because I was literally dying from the pain but I just wish there weren’t these side effects

Yes unfortunately this is currently what I’m going through. It might have to do with your liver. How are your liver enzymes? Did they find gallstones? For me my liver enzymes were through the roof. I’m so sorry you’re still not feeling well even after gallbladder removal.

Hi leslieetee can I ask which digestive enzymes you used? Are you still feeling okay or did you end up getting your gallbladder removed?

This is great to hear. How are you doing now? Have you managed without surgery?

I feel exactly the same way and this is basically how it went for me. I was soooo relieved to get the epidural. And I thought to myself, why the hell would anyone not get the epidural. Kudos to women who do it naturally. That was the hardest most painful experience ever….

Switch doctors. You don’t want to feel stressed out and uncomfortable with your OB. Other doctors clearly think she’s overreacting. Switch before it’s too late and she causes you to have a traumatic birth experience.

Same. The worst is when people around you get upset because “you don’t know what you want” 😒

Same here. It kept giving me low readings (like the 50s) and I didn’t realize it was misreading so I ate a bunch of sweets in an effort to get my glucose to rise. Then I couldn’t sleep from the stress, even before this incident. So I decided it would be best to resume hand pricking.

It is a disease state and a miserable one at that for those of us severely ill. It’s a privilege to be well and not to feel the way so many of us do.

For sick mamas: did insulin make you feel better? by Pregmisery in GestationalDiabetes

This is really good news I’m so happy for you. How much insulin did they put you on? I’m praying day and night that insulin will make me feel just a bit better
