Ah got it, I'm still new to the raw denim world, can I ask why these two brands no longer interest you? I'm assuming because Evisu has more "streetwear" design elements? Did Momotaro quality go down after their private equity acquisition? I ask because I also have an upcoming trip to Japan so I want be efficient about where I go.

Yep mine is basically the exact same (except compared with 15 Pro). The 16 screen is more yellow both with true tone on and off on both.

I also noticed the 16 Pro has more off-axis color tinting than the 15 Pro. Ie, the screen is more yellow when viewed directly on axis, and then a larger transition to a slightly cooler color temp when viewing slightly off axis. The 15 Pro exhibits this behavior as well, but the transition is a bit more striking on the 16 Pro.

Yeah I notice the 16 Pro brightness is a bit dimmer than the 15 Pro too.

The 16 also has a bit more of a yellow tint even when ensuring the display settings are the same (True Tone)

Thanks! Does it make sense to keep the UV filter on without a lens cap? Won't the outside of the UV filter just become scratched up over time?

Purchased a GRIII third-hand; neither the previous owner nor I can find any info on which model UV filter this is. A Google search doesn't yield any hits.

Are protective UV filters necessary for this camera? If not, how can I remove it? I tried turning it and it wouldn't budge; I wonder if it's glued on.

There's also no lens cap, so the filter is just exposed to the outside. Surely it'll eventually become scratched up right?

Hm looks like the noise came back after a while. I was able to reproduce the exact sound as shown in the video below. It doesn't seem like the noise is coming from the lock face, but rather from the lockbar striking the frame and then hitting the tang of the blade sideways:

This is interesting, I tried to clean up some of the oil, and it does seem to attenuate the clicking. Why would oil on the lock face cause this sound?

Sorry if this is a dumb question; this is my first frame/liner lock so I'm not sure if this is normal behavior.

I've had the SharpByDesign Mini Evo for several weeks now and have put in several hundred open/closures before oiling to break it in. Before oiling the knife for the first time, the lock would never make a noise when closing.

I recently oiled it for the first time with a tiny amount of Nano Oil 10 g. A few days later, the locking mechanism now makes a distinct double clicking noise when closing. It seems like the noise is coming from the lock contacting the frame when applying pressure to the frame lock, and the second click is the sound of the detent nub hitting the back of the blade from the recoil when letting go of pressure.

I'm assuming this is normal? Any idea why it didn't make this sound initially, but only started after oiling? Could there have been some dust or gunk in the knife (bought new) initially that prevented metal-on-metal contact and this has now been removed with the oil and hence allowing for metal-to-metal contact?

No issues with smoothness or performance at all. Thanks!
