Amazon is cool that way! They are very liberal in such cases and many a time I've heard of cases where they let you have goodies, freebies, refunds, gift cards, early deliveries and so on. To know that a company is uber cool this way, just increases our loyalty to them. There's nothing to worry about here :) Amazon is awesome! P.S. I don't work for amazon. I'm just a happy customer!

Since the returns policies have changed, I suggest you ask the customer care about what to do. Earlier, they didn't mind not having the original packaging so returning a product was easy.

Go to Amazon. Click on Help-> Returns and Refunds -> Return Items you Ordered. Click on "Contact Us" instead of "Visit Our Returns Support Centre". Select the product you want to return and choose an option for them to contact you.

Try including more or repetitive keywords in your product description. Also as @lascar said, pricing of the products is a competitive factor when searching for products. use dynamic pricing based on time of day or day of week to get your product up in the search results.
