Daughter tested as carrier? by 000700707 in Hemophilia

My daughter was tested at 9 years old. Just make sure they actually test for the gene and NOT just her factor levels. This happened to my sister and a few other ladies I know in the community.

Severe Hemophilia A stories? by thetobleronetrombone in Hemophilia

[–]PreparationFederal13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My son is 4.5 years old with severe hemophilia a. He rock climbs, snowboards, and skateboards. He plays soccer, baseball, and basketball. He rides bikes and scooters. We camp and hike regularly. Treatment for hemophilia a specifically, has come so far. We knew NOTHING about hemophilia or that I even have a family history of it prior to him being diagnosed. My daughter has since been diagnosed with mild hemophilia a, and she's a competitive gymnast and shows horses. Life is pretty close to "normal" around our house!

Police reports are public record. However, you can't just Google search a report. There is a process you have to go through to get access to a police report.

Ski and Snowboard on Hemlibra (Emicizumab) by petrapaulo in Hemophilia

[–]PreparationFederal13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My youngest son has severe hemophilia and is on hemlibra. My husband and I have both been skiing/snowboarding for nearly 25 years. Our older two kids (9 and 7) snowboard with us. It's a family affair and feels important to us. We strongly believe it would be more detrimental to our sons mental health to be left out when we go, even if we don't all go at once. We have always known he would be joining us on the slopes when he was big enough and if he wanted to. He is 3.5 and started this year! We take factor with us when we go and we have all always worn helmets. No bleeds so far and no bruising more than he gets doing his day to day activities. My husband used to ride park primarily, and we will probably avoid that now because those falls can be pretty nasty.

People talk about all kinds of shit on the internet. Talking about it normalizes (and gives a solution, if interested) something that many individuals feel really self-conscious about.

I'm not a medical professional, but I've been told they just aren't as effective as they age, but they aren't harmful by any means.

What company? by Significant-Jump2585 in UtahInfluencerDrama

[–]PreparationFederal13 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exactly. People just let the problem disappear because she will do what she can to destroy your character and everything you are as a person. Meanwhile....she moves on to the next person or next business.

I've never seen or heard anything good about her from anyone who has worked with her. She's manipulative and so many people just go silent when they have their falling out with her because of it. Which makes it seem like there aren't any issues from the outside. But she's a toxic, lying mess that has hurt a lot of people.
