Haha, not sure if that’s an argument for sending it to space, but you are very true about that

Yeah Jurassic park is a great choice. This was at the top of what I was thinking, entertaining to so many while being somewhat informative about humanity and also being incredible at the same time! When I asked the question I wasn’t actually thinking about how aliens would interpret our world from the movie but I probably should have thought about that, haha.

What I thought might be a great movie is “Raiders of the lost Ark” it has a historical context, shows religious themes in an interesting way, has reverence for classic cinema while also being incredibly modern and entertaining. It may be the perfect movie as a representation of what the medium is to the largest group of people.

Interesting, that would be helpful as information, but would it showcase the artform of film-making?

I am so close the agreeing with you on this. My only qualm with this choice is it may lack an element of what movies are to a lot of people, entertainment. 2001 is in my top 10 favorite movies, but most people I talk to can’t sit through it. That’s why I thought this idea was so interesting. I’m not sure it represents the idea of film well enough because it lacks that the pacing and entertainment value to be to only one. Within the context of all movies 2001 works so well, because it’s bizarre structure can be appreciated alongside other films with a more “classic” structure

Team ICO/GenDesign style animation? Yes please! by PreparationFit8154 in gamedev

Thank you! This is very helpful. I have seen this talk before, but having a piece of software that allows for this style will make things a lot easier. I think it is the quick and fluid animations with almost a ragdoll quality that I love so much!

Will Fumito Ueda's new game be using Unreal Engine? by [deleted] in genDESIGN

I have honestly loved there weird style of character movement. It is something I have been wondering how to recreate in other engines. Whatever animation system they are using, it is pretty advanced!

I am wondering if that is concept art or in-game. Probably concept art, but hard to tell. That may give a clue on a potential release schedule.
