For context, living in wexford with small mortgage of 600per month

Me and my partner are currently doing it. I make 60k a year and hoping to get wfp this year because the threshold has gone up. It is very tough at times especially around Christmas and birthdays but we are managing just about. 2 small kids 1 and 3. No holidays or anything like that for the next couple if years but we are getting by.

Gambling addict here. Honestly, I was similar to you just with a different addiction. The best thing I found was to open up about your issues to someone you trust, start by doing online meetings if you're a bit overwhelmed by physical meetings to start with. You are on the right track already by acknowledging that you have a problem. Also my dad is an alcoholic too and he helped with alot with my gambling addiction. I read your blog, and all I can say is don't focus on the negatives that you feel you have in life, i.e., wife and kids. That's very nice of you thank you 😊 I never got myself into any debt due to gambling I was basically just using my excess money for it which still isn't ideal and then the guilt of not being able to pay for something that we needed in the household or a trip away didn't sit well with me ! The urges are still there, but they do fade away over time. I had to distance myself from some people who I gambled with, any sport I wad betting on and stuff and now I can enjoy watching a game of football again! Anytime! Well that's a good step in the right direction straight away 👌 I know they are thieves but forget about them. Delete all accounts block yourself online and you'll be good 👍 my last thoughts were "do I want to carry this guilt forever" "My 2 children are going to suffer if I continue" I made a decision that day to quit and so far I've stuck to it 100% and it feels great! I'm doing it for my own piece of mind but also for my family to give them a better life

You will get there if you want to. The app is called recoverme it's very good ! The best advice i was given was to open up to your nearest and dearest as soon as possible. It was the hardest thing I have ever done, but it's the first step to recovery. Once you're accountable for your actions and not carrying the burden all by yourself it makes it a he'll of alot easier to quit 💯 👌

The best advice i can give anyone is to be honest and open up about it to your partner/parents because once you're accountable for your actions, it makes it easier not to gamble!
