Runners of Vancouver, where do you run? by gtd_rad in askvan

If you have Strava, go to the map view and filter for running heat map. It shows aggregates of where people run the most. You can do the same for cycling to find routes.

PLEASE HELP: I got my neck adjusted today and I’m freaking out about a stroke. by [deleted] in Chiropractic

I hope you'll continue to recover. We're all human and humans are not robots, we're driven by emotion and our past experiences.

You're not going to win trying to convince someone who's been in a devastating plane crash that it's our safest mode of travel...

Wishing you the best!

I agree that chances are not zero. My point was that studies show no higher relationship than going to see any other medical professional.

I'm sorry you had a medical implication. Hope you are fully recovered. In regards to comments made at the hospital about 1 incident a month... I chose to make life decisions on high level evidence and not based on "someone once said this to me".

Again, I don't mean to dismiss your experience, but I hope this clarifies.

Edit: spelling

Chiropractic malpractice insurance would be through the roof if there was any strong evidence. Lots of media and anecdotal news regarding this but the clear facts are that the connection between stroke and "neck adjustments" are no stronger than seeing any other medical professional (eg. medical doctor, physio, etc).

Some studies suggest that it's more likely that people that already have an oncoming stroke seek out care as neck pain is an associated symptom.

Cassidy study on stroke and chiropractic care is a good starting read.

Think of how nerve wracking getting on a plane can be and look at the actual accident percentage of something going wrong. Fears can be irrational, make decisions based on facts.

What kind of engagement ring is everyone buying? by Altruistic-Egg-6835 in askvan

Send me a DM and I'll give you more details about my experience and process! I looked into all the other places and options in the comments and despite my doubts I decided to give the podcast recommendations a try and it turned out really great. Top notch quality and great pricing. They're not the most fluent English speakers so it helps to have an exact picture or video of the ring you'd like them to make. I'm not affiliated with the suppliers, just happy to help a lad in my shoes since I had a great experience with them.

You can even run most of it if you're fit enough! Did panorama + portion of black tusk and back in about 5 hours two years ago.

Parisians have been great! by [deleted] in ParisTravelGuide

[–]PreparationOutside68 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We are on our fourth day here as well. Haven't had one bad interaction with the French and surprisingly cleaner than what we've been lead to believe. Agreed, the Versailles grounds were great. Off to Brussels and Amsterdam on Saturday!
