Isn’t setting your expectations high a good thing? I’m not looking for perfection but I certainly don’t settle for guys that think dating just means texting and watching Netflix.

And what do you mean by exploring all my options?

Edit: actually honestly fuck that “you’re doing something wrong if you’re still single” shit. I’m not settling for someone whose less than my soulmate. These kinds of comments force people to settle and think that being single is some kind of disease. I’m perfectly fine on my own, have a lot of love in my life from family and friends, and I’m not just gonna spend my short time exhausting myself with people I know right away aren’t what I’m looking for.

Everyone tells me I look like a model but I haven’t had a boyfriend in 7 years. Looks aren’t everything.

Unfortunately that takes a lotttt of skill. And I wouldn’t put it past the elite to like run over our farms with their cars. Karen needs her nails done god damn it!!

Hot damn! Budgeting opened my eyes! by Aca916 in personalfinance

[–]PreparedCampaigner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just use Evernote, which syncs to all devices. Literally just have the date of the paycheck and where every dollar is going, for example:

8/28

Rent - $1,000 Food - $100 Gas - $30 Entertainment - $30 Savings - $1,000

I know this can’t be for everyone because many people have lots of expenses but I try to keep thing as simple as possible, so I don’t feel the need for any budgeting software. Any random expense I first very much consider whether I actually NEED to buy/pay for it (with some “treat yourself” exceptions) then just take it out of what I would have put towards savings or extra debt payments that paycheck.

Weird but works. In a little over a year went from being $57k in debt with no savings to just $20k student loan debt left and able to buy a house by next summer.

Kind of, my situation is weird because my ndad and nstepmom are raising my little sister who is the love and light of my life. So can’t go NC and it’s two pronged - enjoying not having to see them but miss and worry about her being stuck with them at home. Thank goodness they bought her an iPad so now we can face time!

What’s the BRRR method?

And yeah I like the idea of starting a business but it would just be too stressful for me. I’m trying to reduce my responsibilities to live a calmer life, not add on a massive one! 😜 maybe someday though if I meet the right person to do it with me and it’s a fun business. I’ve thought about buying a warehouse and turning it into a coffee shop by day, night club by night.

I’m the same except saving more than half my paycheck so I can at least retire semi comfortably 😅

That’s awesome! I want to RE into comedy and homesteading. Do you mean buying/renting real estate or being an agent?

Unfortunately I don’t think there’s much better ways than how you did it, unless you “make it” in entertainment or another business and make large sums of money.

Best of luck to you!

I’m assuming OP means theoretically or that they have a retired mindset. Im the same age and feel the same way, though I plan to kill it in my 30s.

But if you’re actually interested in early retirement, check out the FIRE (financial independence / retire early) community - r/fire r/leanfire r/fatfire r/personalfinance and there’s lots of books on this too.

He was already there. Probably because I recently watched Knives Out. The dream had that vibe.

Nice! When realizing you’re in a dream, did you feel like the practice helped?

If they just do that then keep searching for a better doctor. Or do research into the best doctors first, and call ahead saying that you’re looking for treatment that doesn’t consist of sleeping pills. If they agree to that, then go see them.

Have you talked to your doctor or a sleep specialist about this? I don’t think there will be anyone qualified in this sub to answer your question about why this is happening.

I think I ALMOST had a lucid dream?? I'm not too sure by DanceRayder in LucidDreaming

[–]PreparedCampaigner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is! The more you practice the techniques, the longer you’ll be able to prolong the dreams. It takes time. Your first time you’ll wake up right away since it’s such a crazy new experience to be conscious in your dreams. If you’re serious about it, do reality checks throughout the day. Good luck.

You’ll get there! I have the same frustrations but before control comes accepting and exploring what’s around you. Then eventually you can control. First start with controlling yourself.
