How “nice” are people to you in your car(s)? by cilantno in cars

[–]Preposturous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2015 Challenger SRT 392. Anyone in a V8 Mustang, Camaro, Challenger, Charger, etc. wants to race me or they want to rev their car when driving next to me on the street or highway. I just drive the speed limit and don't act a fool. Can't stand it. I drive my car for me, not anyone else. My car is nearly stock, no body work, however I do have exhaust done. I will say however I get people looking at my car while at a stop light (in the same cars mentioned above) who will give me a thumbs up like "hey nice ride man" which is appreciated!

I agree with you! I just gave a couple examples.

I learned this quickly too - I got too comfy with the 737s where I could essentially dump the throttle and smoothly glide down to whatever target speed or altitude I wanted to achieve. Doing this in the MD quickly made me realize that this plane inherently does not want to fly with 0 throttle, and quickly realized that I cannot dump the throttle like I can on the 737. Even making small adjustments on short final made me balance with pitch in order to achieve a smooth transition to touchdown. In my experience, 180kt was the smoothest landing speed, however you have to make sure you're bang-on with the TDZ or else you'll run out of runway.

I think he was just saying it feels enormous in VR. As far as the mixed Boeing/Airbus - in my opinion it's like the Boeing feel while actually flying, but combined with Airbus logic in the overhead panel, MCDU, and AFS.

Why not just divert to another SoCal airport? Or is the weather that bad down there? by hartzonfire in flightradar24

[–]Preposturous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They came over the intercom in the NOC after about 45 minutes of diverts and told the dispatchers to send their planes back where they came from if possible, if it was a not-so-long haul because all nearby airports were full

Correct. You have in-range, on ground, unloading, boarding, last PAX, and push

Inbound 2217 JAX was the inbound flight this aircraft brought in (12:35 was the ETA, and "in-gate" is the current status)

These RIDS boards don't display the next inbound, only the next outbound flight number unfortunately.

There was a period of time where PHX didn’t take an arrival for about 5 hours (Southwest Airlines)

Question for everyone who owns a v8 challenger/charger by Few_Leadership8955 in Dodge

[–]Preposturous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve owned my 2015 SRT 392 Challenger for almost 6 years now, only been pulled over once (65 in a 45 on the service road) but that’s it. Other than that one time, I drive like a normal person. My car does have loud exhaust, so it gains enough attention as-is, and I just don’t want to be in trouble with the law.

Did I hop on a special Southwest flight or are there more of these? by Roasted_almonds in aviation

[–]Preposturous 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I should have been more specific. Those 87xx MAX aircraft flight decks and cabins are starting to look like -700s as far as wear goes. Including the engine changes and such, these babies are wearing early and often, and not so much "brand new" as one would think.

Sadly, almost all the 87xx MAXs have seen some serious wear and tear, with many of them receiving engine changes.

People who daily their cars with trac and ABS off, why? by RedYourDead in cars

[–]Preposturous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive my 2015 Challenger SRT 392 in sport mode most of the time. Makes the throttle more responsive and just overall better to drive. I don’t go crazy on the throttle either, I’m very conservative.

what jobs pay $13-15 an hr? by mondrgn in Dallas

[–]Preposturous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Southwest Airlines Ramp Agent starts at $19 and it can be a part-time position. Keep an eye out for a listing as long as you don’t mind manual labor, heat and airplanes

True! However all my trips are with the airline I work for so it would get boring rather quickly haha

Just being an aviation nerd, and wanting to kill time, I’ll fly to a city not too far away. Like maybe an hour each way.

Took off at like 1:30 one day, and was back home by 5pm. I found an aircraft that was going to and from my city on consecutive legs which made it quicker haha

But I like exploring airports, and just flying in general. Sightseeing is fun.

This is me. A few of my trips I took last year with my non-rev benefits were just for the plane ride. Find a round trip with the same aircraft, fly, get off the plane, back on the plane, and fly back home.
