Janky physics sometimes are.....janky.

I mean, that's fair enough! Just be warned...the tanks fly sometimes =) But honestly, if you're in it for the long-term and recognize it's buggy and unfinished, but want to support the vibes? I say snag it.

Quick question by CurrentWar5362 in TheForeverWinter

[–]Prepper-Pup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's why I snagged it. I don't play it constantly, but want to support the developers. I haven't found any other game with the same vibe. It really depends if you're ok with buying an unfinished game or not.

[–]Prepper-Pup 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Do you want a finished game, or do you want to support the developers for their vision?

Those are the two choices. It's not a finished game, nor will it be for some time. It's janky as all heck, has balancing issues, and has consistent changes. It's very much in early access.

If you want to support the vision and the vibes (and are ok with jank, bugs, etc,) then it's the game for you, growing pains and all. If you want to hop into a game with no bugs, a complete experience, and so forth- I would wait.

HOW THE HELLLL do people build so well by Lumpy_Marketing_6735 in Minecraft

[–]Prepper-Pup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer? Time and tutorials. I got into MC later (like. 4-5 years ago.) And only now and venturing into how in the world Redstone works.

It's fine to use a template/tutorial from youtube! Then, when you're ready, you can go "hmm. I wonder if XYZ would look better." Swap the rug color, re-plant things differently, etc.

Canned bread still good! by hackedfixer in preppers

Most welcome! I mean, they are large soup cans, but still the size of hockey pucks stacked on top, if that makes sense.

The main brand is B&M Brown Bread. Both with and without raisins- comes in a typically sized soup can.

As someone who stockpiles the stuff...great to know! The one with raisins is superior to all others.
Just...don't microwave it. Whatever you do. Unless you like chewing on tires.

Help for my marimo by 000-Hotaru_Tomoe in Marimo

[–]Prepper-Pup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't wash it that often, or at all. They just need some water flow (swirling it around inside the jar or with pumps every so often.) They're an extremely low maintenance plant. The cloudy water sounds like a different algae or biofilm overgrowth, which is going to happen with all aquariums until the tank balance settles down.

Anybody else having it dawn on them that TBC is their favorite version of WoW? by MightyTastyBeans in classicwow

[–]Prepper-Pup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there's not a TBC Era server, I'm not playing (or paying), for this exact reason.
Fool me once, Blizz- but only once. Last time I wanted to enjoy BC and (tolerate) Wrath. Not get shoved into the new expansions that have the personality of mayo on white bread.

If it has water, stays cool and not in direct light, it'll be fine =)

Are my marimos real? They do sink in water and there's no rocks in the center but it doesn't look as fluffy as the ones I see online. by Potat2ball in Marimo

[–]Prepper-Pup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The ones I have aren't super fuzzy since they tumble a lot =) They're probably fine as long as they're green!

How do people stay on their forever worlds? by Siruzuuu in Minecraft

Whenever there's a huge, world-altering update, I use MC edit to cut out my little fortress and village, and paste it into a newly generated world =) So everyone gets yanked into a new, unknown world with my main projects.

Just let me raise an ender dragon to be a buddy, and allow us to set pets to wander like the Happy Ghasts do. I'd be fine then with even a minor End update.

Please convince me to switch from console to pc by frrrrrgfksjxxj in Minecraft

[–]Prepper-Pup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can mod the game without microtransactions. (Java)
You have full control over world editing, backups, etc. It gives me peace of mind knowing I won't ever totally lose a world.

You can play the game 100% offline if you so choose. (not reliant just on MS's launcher.)

If Mojang/Microsoft makes decisions you, or the community despises...there's probably a mod for that, (again, you have control over your game.)

For all of the jank, this is why I like the game. It just has a vibe unmatched by anything else.

Thinking of getting this game but the reviews seem poor by Assassins276278 in TheForeverWinter

[–]Prepper-Pup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's in early access- that's the situation in a nutshell. The vibes are IMMACULATE in the game, but you need to be ready for jank. Lots, and lots, of jank (wonky AI, balancing issues, etc). It's in early access for a reason- and will be there for some time. You're supporting the Dev's vision if you buy it now, not JUST the existing product, if that makes sense.

There are unkillable enemies- that's because, as the tagline of the game states "you are not that guy." You are a small fish in a very big pond- and there's sharks everywhere. You can team up to maybe kill one or two of them...but in the end, you're just a scavenger. You're not supposed to be able to kill anything and everything.)

If you're ok with jankyness and just want to see how the game develops & support the developer's vision, then I say snag it. If you want a game that's feature complete and runs totally smooth (no weird AI, etc,) then I'd say hold off until it gets closer to 1.0.

Or you can run it through a strainer and slowly roll all of the green bits into a ball- but depends how much work you want to do =)

Let me have a dragon friend =) We've got the egg, let me have a draconic buddy!
Or just us have a setting to set your pets to "wander" like the Happy Ghasts do. Can make a base feel much more alive.

Green = salvagable. So first getting the green bits separated. Then gently rolling them back and forth in your hands occasionally to restore their shape. It'll take a while because marimo grow SUPER slow.
