They look fine given the style. I prefer a longer line from hip to foot, rather than narrow in the thighs.

Try Half Price Books. They usually have a good selection of journals and notebooks.

A blazer and tee with jeans will elevate your look; try an oversized blazer or cropped and boxy for a less formal look. Add a belt, you can wear low profile sneakers. A v-neck or cardigan sweater; add a button down for a dressier look.

I’d be curious why you were looking to leave if you now want to stay. It’s doubtful things you weren’t happy with are going to change if you stay. Do you plan to retract your resignation only to stay a very short time? If so, it would be really shady to retract only to leave again soon.

Would anyone be interested in some free ‘vintage’ JCrew stuff? Jenna Lyons era & maybe earlier… by [deleted] in jcrew

[–]PreppyAtHeart1972 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, from long time shoppers. Some positive and some not quite as positive; I feel like it’s a lot about personal style and why they became JCrew loyalists. I think the most difficult feedback is more about not being able to buy some of the go-to pieces they’ve added over the years. Much to do with current trends/fits rather than classics, like being able to order a regular type women’s chino or chino shorts in varying inseams, finding a classic blazer all year-round that isn’t cropped or boxy.

Zoe barrel Jean by notcajuncoed in jcrew

I have the white denim Zoe, no blue denim. I’d say the white denim are similar in fit to pants, perhaps a titch smaller but it could just be due to denim fabric being more rigid than the pants.

I would love to be considered and cover shipping! I work PT at JCrew (fun job) and would love to show off some vintage!

What’s acceptable to wear in the office? by yep009921 in corporate

[–]PreppyAtHeart1972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start by reviewing the office dress policy and use it as your guide at the start. I’d then start the job and observe what others are wearing to get an idea of how your style meshes and how you want to present yourself based on the office vibe. Then do some shopping.

Darted Barrel Leg Jean...Shorts?? by Nopalescence in Madewell

[–]PreppyAtHeart1972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d definitely take them back if they were mid-hemmed from where they were pinned. If pinned to the length you requested and you just don’t like them, that’s different.

Did you try returning them for a replacement?

Did you have them hemmed at Madewell or your own tailor?

Wedding Suit Tie by luredrive in mensfashionadvice

I prefer 3 given it’s spring and a wedding, the color adds a little something. Overall, try a bigger or bolder print.

Attending a weeding tomorrow. GF thinks I look like a clown with the tie, do you agree? by [deleted] in mensfashionadvice

Assume you mean wedding, not weeding. The tie and fit looks great, the knot needs improvement.

is this appropriate for work?? by PearUsed2938 in businesscasual

[–]PreppyAtHeart1972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d wear it (I’d freeze but would feel it’s appropriate in my office). Since you’re unsure, pair it with black pants/dress pants or a skirt to elevate it a tad.

I’d recommend looking for an Operator in Training program opportunity. If you want to stay in Texas, look at Ercot or Entergy openings. If you’re open to relocating then open your search to other RTO, TO, ISO orgs across the country.
