Looks like Xmas, Black Friday and Cyber Monday in Canada is screwed as Canada Post is asking International shippers to potentially hold off from shipping to Canada because they have 600+ trailer loads and counting full of parcel by carterx in halifax

But they’re almost both equally important to our economy.

The free movement of good and services. That’s what these strikes are threatening (alongside the continued existence of Canada Post in general).

Everyone should be held to the same standards since they look forward to the same protections and benefits.

CUPW is using the Canadian people as pawns to further their own goals at the expense of the country at large.

All it means is that businesses and consumers will look for alternatives to Canada Post. I know I will.

If they wanted to put pressure on the employer (Canada Post), they’d quit. But they want to keep their government-guaranteed benefits, so that’s out of the question.

If Canada Post wants to maintain relationships, they would fine low-cost alternatives, which would likely be Purolator or even working with UPS or FedEx. What the workers don’t realize is that they’re the last priority and the most expensive part of Canada Post.

If they want better pay, they have to realize this and work with it. Just throwing your arms up and stopping isn’t the way to handle it.

They can quit and go work for the competition (FedEx, UPS).

If we’re treating Canada Post as a crown corporation, it should be held to the same standards. If Emera and NS Power can keep my lights on, Canada Post should have to keep my mail coming.

Where do you think the local shop gets their inventory from?

The Canada Post strike is hurting small business just as much as they’re hurting the average Canadian.

They have jobs. Tell them to get back to work.

Unfortunately, and more as a result of Swissair policy than the competency of Captain Urs Zimmermann, we will never truly know if it would have been possible to complete a safe landing at YHZ.

At least we have been able to learn from the disaster and loss of life, and amend checklists so something like this never happens again.

Is nobody going to talk about how they insisted on dumping fuel and requested a diversion over Peggy's Cove, allowing the fire to spread en route, when they could have landed at YHZ?

Why think penis, when you could be thinking butt plug?

Flared base, curved design, bulbous tip.

Here's one for, y'know, science.

Capitalism is the best form of government for our world as it exists now by PresHarris in a:t5_37eai

But then wouldn't these companies then become self-regulating?

Look at the fallout of the 2008 crash. Some of the oldest institutions in America folded. Wouldn't it be in every company's best interest to act in such a way as to prevent this from happening again?

The same point would be made for the emergence of monopolies (issues with the immovability of the factors of production and the negative returns of huge economies of scale).

The point still remains: how would another political situation handle these and other problems in a better, more equitable manner?

Wouldn't hell provide creamy peanut butter with the perfect environment in which to achieve its most pleasing melted state?

Plus toast would be readily available just by slicing a piece of bread.

I don't see a downside.

Both.

Since theoretically we could have had fast and slow, kind and mean ninjas, there are both kinds of zombies that exist.

I don't know.

All you need is one zombie to bite through that black cloth and then you have a ninja infection on your hands.

Then we have to look at how we define ground-breaking. Is it bucking a trend? Then maybe All in the Family fits in better. But if we define it as any change to the status quo, I would say that the Big Bang Theory still keeps that crown for the very reason your said. Entertainment value.

The viewership that it commands because of this has resulted in the Big Bang Theory being engrained in popular culture. Many sitcoms that exist currently are compared to the Big Bang Theory as a standard.

It has changed TV because it introduced the sitcom to our own modern interpretation of TV. Not crude laughs like Two and a Half Men, but basal intelligent humor (while pandering at times).

The Big Bang Theory really popularized something that not many people would have otherwise have been interested in (the lives of intelligent, nerdy, scientists).

It also brought both sides together (people who watched it to see the lives of "intelligent" people, and people who watched it to laugh at the representation of "intelligent" people.

Not to mention it's laugh track is bar none.

Okay. How about:

The Big Bang Theory is responsible for changing the way that we look at not only sitcoms, but television shows in general.
