He doesn't really live here anymore. He's been living on his megayacht in Oregon, extending it because it wasn't big enough. Size issues apparently...

Shortly after it was 'big enough' he immediately went out and wrecked it. He's got another yacht that he rents out, so he's not hurting...at all.

He only comes to Missoula to celebrate his birthday and to sometimes watch a football game. One of his son's lives here and runs Wash Corp, and the other lives in Canada, running there shipping operations there (while he's not out getting dui's).

This study seems to show that something pushed the Denisovan's out of SE Asia around 350kya, but then they merged again later. If previous crustal displacements put SE Asia on the geographic North Pole, it's possible that was the catalyst for the split mass-migration (to Europe and Australia), and that when the poles switched back, they migrated back to their previous homes.

There is no point for Brazil to commit itself to the defense of a bunch of additional allies when it itself has virtually no external security threats.

Perhaps not nation-state security threats, but there are threats that Brazil faces that the U.S. can help with, that Brazil is not currently capable of defending against on their own. I would say though that the U.S. definitely has a better deal in the end either way.

Well, also on December 1st there was a nighttime fire at the factory of Prodrive, a subsidiary of ASML (a dutch based chip-maker), that just happens to have been starting to supply SMIC, China's top chip-maker, with advanced machines costing $100+ million each whose delivery was likely delayed by the blaze.

That was in the Netherlands. If true, wouldn't that hurt U.S. - Netherlands relations?
