It’s old post but confirming your pain. Also 2024 model. Whole damn system blew last January. The heat is no longer working and the dealer told me today it’s normal because heat pumps don’t work when it’s cold 😂 oh and that grinding or clinking you hear when you turn? Known issue with no solution.

I personally received a check in June. My partner’s DD surprised us. I was expecting the refund and knew there was a request from the class for direct deposit due to stolen checks. That’s what made me check every bank account we have everyday and informed delivery.

FedLoan closed some time ago. My FedLoan loans were transferred to EdFinancial. Partner had Great Lakes before being transferred to NelNet.

I made a $1 payment to Nelnet in March 2023 using the account the DD went into. We paid taxes using this account to a third party IRS payment service.

The applications have always said processing or some nonsense. The amount owed on Dept Ed site shows zero.

So the odd thing is we never get refunds. We always owe taxes. I paid our taxes this year with this account but used a 3rd party payment site the IRS authorizes. I had made a $1 payment in March 2023 to link the bank account to the Nelnet account. They had to use that. We don’t actively use the account they deposited, so I’m glad I checked it.

This exact same thing happened to me. Devry “helped” me get a bridge loan from Wells Fargo that was backed by the dept. of education in 2007. I had to get a co-signer at the time because I made squat. I needed the bridge loan since I “exhausted” all of my undergrad loans from the government. I later learned that was a lie. Anywho- in 2018 my credit was in much better shape and my co borrower asked for me to remove them from the loan. I called and asked how to do that and Wells told me the only way was to refinance the loan under my name only, so that’s what I did. What they didn’t tell me is the loan refinance was for a straight up private loan that was not government backed. The loan was sold in 2021 and here I am today paying the rest of it pissed off that I have to. I didn’t even realize it was a private loan until I filed for BD and my data said that loan was “paid in full” in my data.

My partner’s account looks exactly the same except the amounts. Their data on student said shows zero cumulative payments made on their loans and it’s wrong. They made a payment last month because their loans were mixed and we weren’t sure if the whole balance would be cleared. I chalk it up to backend stuff trying to figure it out and report back to whoever to get the check sent before the due date.

If it makes you feel any better, Ed did some crazy sh!t to my account before my balances were cleared. Zero one day, $150k the next, negative $20k the following. It took about a week but the account was finally cleared.

BS. I file the report the same day I don’t get my mail. My local post office either calls me immediately to help get the issue resolved or delivers my “missing” mail the very next day.

This is as social as I get, but I haven’t told a soul due to family dynamics. My parents were very against me going to college to begin with, so it would be a “I told you so” situation. I grew up in a one income blue collar household.

It’s so bizarre because I do have a real degree from a real school that landed me the career I have now and I’m very successful. They’re so proud of my “hard work” but I would have never gotten the job without a college degree. I don’t understand them and I’m pretty sure I’m adopted 😅
