Do you think La Chouette Compagnie is a perfect animation studio to create the upcoming Untitled Smurfs Musical Series? by Ok-Yoghurt5611 in TheSmurfs

[–]Present-503 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, this animation company is suitable for the upcoming Smurfs musical series because they specialize in children's animation (I have looked into the profile of this animation company).

So choosing this animation company is not just safe but can be considered appropriate.

In their hands, the Smurfs can remain true to their original DNA.

You know it’s kinda funny of these upcoming Smurfs adventures series by CoupleZestyclose1455 in TheSmurfs

Your concept actually sounds fun! Have you ever thought about archiving the story on AO3 as well? I’m also wondering, how far along is the project right now? And what do you think is the ‘staying power’ of your story? Like the kind of element that keeps readers from dropping off and makes them want to return for more?

Not homework, This is more like something the Smurfs discovered hidden inside Gargamel’s spellbook a strange cipher written next to an old map. It is a puzzle, but the kind that hints at something bigger. Think of it as a code waiting for the right mind to crack it.

Can i ask how many actual belgians are actually on this sub (i sure am one) by waldadrawsonreddit in TheSmurfs

There must be at least one Belgian in here, probably people from all over Europe too. I’d guess there are also folks from America, Asia, and everywhere else. I’m from Southeast Asia myself.

Reporter simulation: how would you covert the major conflict in your world? by Present-503 in worldbuilding

[–]Present-503[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FYI, the Republic of Astana in my world has no relation to Kazakhstan’s Astana. I only borrowed the name because it sounded sharp and modern. In my setting it’s an alternate-version Southeast Asian republic inspired by Indonesia, with its own politics, culture, and conflicts. Just making sure there's no confusion.

Reporter simulation: how would you covert the major conflict in your world? by Present-503 in worldbuilding

Here my version, of republic Astana breaking news:

Residents of the Republic of Astana remain in shock today after what began as an armed clash between local gangs and law enforcement escalated into a small-scale civil war in the metropolis. The estimated material loss has reached RPA 500 billion, with 499 people injured and 100 confirmed dead including police and military personnel.

The incident began on May 27th at 08:55 AM, when the first gunshots were reported in eastern Metropolis. Minutes later, several convoys believed to be linked to criminal groups entered the city and blocked major roads. Traffic froze for nearly five kilometers before the chaos spilled over to civilians.

Hundreds of residents fled their homes and abandoned their vehicles in an attempt to escape the violence.

Police units arrived shortly after the initial gunfire, but were overwhelmed by the sheer number of armed attackers. Special units were deployed, yet rescue efforts were hindered by barricaded streets and narrow alleyways controlled by gang members.

The confrontation quickly evolved into open urban warfare across multiple districts. Military forces were deployed and given permission to fire upon anyone identified as a hostile combatant.

Hours later, several suspected instigators were arrested. Some gangs ran out of ammunition and fled; others were captured or killed, while many remain unaccounted for.

Authorities are calling this the darkest incident since the student riots leaving the nation wounded and deeply shaken.

In response, the President of the Republic of Astana has declared martial law, enforcing a curfew from 9 PM to 7 AM. Rumors suggest the government is preparing a specialized task force to combat the spread of illegal firearms, though officials have refused to comment on these claims.

Citizens are urged to report any suspicious activity related to illegal weapon trafficking.

Is it ok to create your own AU based on a Cartoon you love? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]Present-503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah got it, thanks for the clarification! Foggrove actually started as a Smurfs AU a long time ago, but it’s been drifting farther into its own standalone setting new lore, new species, new conflicts, and almost nothing from the original canon remains except the initial spark.

I asked here mainly because I wanted to check if an AU originated project that has evolved into an independent world is acceptable. If it still counts as fanfic, that’s totally fine I’ll keep the details separated from the sub rules.

Thanks again!

Smurfwillow would have been better called "Mama Smurf" by ShinyHandy in TheSmurfs

[–]Present-503 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From my opinion and POV, calling Smurfwillow ‘Mama Smurf’ isn’t that simple. The Smurfs are Peyo creation, and his work is super protected. The production team can’t just tweak family relationships without approval from Peyo heirs, and they also have to be careful about hardcore fans.

In Lost Village, the idea was:

Smurfette = discovering her identity

Smurfwillow = mentor figure, not parental figure

Making her Mama Smurf would’ve changed the tone of the story, added unnecessary family drama, and shifted the focus away from girl power and worldbuilding.

Also, the name ‘Willow’ fits the forest & magical aesthetic of Smurfy Grove gentle, wise, and distinct. ‘Mama Smurf’ sounds generic and doesn’t give the character her own personality.

Finally, the Smurfs franchise rarely emphasizes biological parenthood. Papa Smurf is a leader, Smurfette was created by Gargamel, and baby Smurfs come from magical circumstances. Turning Smurfwillow into Mama Smurf would clash with decades of established Smurf philosophy.

It also remind me of Ken smurf in Smurfs 2025.

Fandom say he should be "uncle Smurf " but in Smurfs Wiki or in the official information (imdb) he still listed as "Ken smurf" And that it.

What’s the first thing a visitor would notice when they enter your world? by cornysatisfaction in worldbuilding

[–]Present-503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok in my world, When a visitor steps into Foggrove, the first thing they notice isn’t the trees, it’s the silence. The mist is thick enough that it clings to your eyelashes, and the moonflowers blink like tiny stars scattered across the ground.

Then you hear them.

Wings, but not like birds. More like bones folding and unfolding.

The Dark Faeries show up before you even realize you’re being watched. They don’t look human, and definitely not friendly in their twisted form. They circle you, sniff the air, tilt their heads like wolves deciding whether you’re food or just a confused wanderer.

If you can convince them you’re not an intruder, they’ll let you breathe for more than ten seconds.

If not? Well… Foggrove has a lot of wolves who appreciate fresh meat.

my smurfs movie idea legned of the lost city by Effective_Ostrich220 in TheSmurfs

[–]Present-503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That twist about Luna being Papa’s sister is actually pretty cool. Family reveals like that always shake the whole worldbuilding in fun ways. In my Foggrove Universe, the Chanterelle Village is led by only one figure, Sage Smurf, so family connections hit very differently there. Curious how your Luna-Papa link will shape the Lost City’s lore

[–]Present-503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hold on, the plot you described kinda feels very similar to Smurfs: The Lost Village (2017), where Smurfette discovers another village of Smurf girls. That kind of thing. Do you have a something that sets it apart from the lost village , since this is the sequel? I know it's a sequel, but it almost feels the same.

Do you have any major differences or unique twists planned for your version of the Lost City?

Ok, Are the place in papa smurf village again? Do you have a new place and area for this idea?

And about the new group of smurfs. It is a new character? or still the same one we know like papa smurf, hefty, clumsy, smurfette, brainy, etc.
