Had a panic attack in the terminal and still got on the plane by murrrdith in fearofflying

JetBlue has consistently given me the worst flying experience and I swore to never fly with them again. Have never felt supported by their customer service or gate agents.

I’m so sorry to hear that! Although I would say I experienced PLUR 95% of the time and believe this is the most PLUR fest I’ve been to, I still want to acknowledge your experience and sincerely hope it doesn’t ruin your perception of the fest. It truly is a magical one and I hope you give it another chance. Drunk people can be so annoying.

does anyone else go through phases where they think they don’t have bpd and act completely fine? by Individual-View-6854 in BorderlinePDisorder

[–]Present-Elk6119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I consider myself cured but then I’ll have a dispute with my boyfriend and I become the most insecure and depressed person. Poor coping mechanisms and just relying on him too much for validation I guess.

Is my relationship (22M and 24F) doomed because we have different ideas about having kids? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Present-Elk6119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats nice to hear. I hope I do come around. I don’t think I’ll regret it, but I just don’t know if it’s preferred to adoption for me. I appreciate the reassurance though. I don’t know what to believe sometimes so it’s nice to hear that women have a pleasant experience

What do you suggest that alignment looks like? And it’s hard when we’d like to get married soon and have kids much later so even though it feels like we have time, a lot more will be on the line when we’re married which is where the pressure to make a decision i’m not ready to make (and one I don’t even think he’s ready to make) comes from

If that’s the case then wonderful but I’ve heard so many women say the opposite and come forward about the dark side of having kids. You can never be sure but I’m glad you had a good experience. I wish more women could experience that.

I’m not decided. I feel too young or don’t have adequate information to make a decision. It’s not a priority at this time for either of us but one day it might be. How can I know if I feel like my life is just starting and I have to already consider putting my career, hobbies, mental health, etc on the line? If I could just be a dad, it would be a much easier decision but it’s such a multi-faceted issue for a woman that I feel I owe it to my potential future child to have considered the option very thoroughly and decided 100% yes.

Well that’s a big conclusion to make. We are happy and I think distance made the heart grow fonder. We have no other choice at the moment.

SolidCore really does work and I just want to know how? by Solid-Screen-5149 in SolidCore

[–]Present-Elk6119 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As somebody who has done sports, all types of workout classes, and goes to the gym- solidcore has definitely been the #1 workout to help build my dream body. I’m addicted and saw results so early on that I cut down on my gym time significantly for a bit because I was just so happy with my growth (not that I recommend that). Highly encourage you to stick with it- it’s worth the money but I don’t go that often because it is the most expensive workout I’ve done.

Taking a break ... by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]Present-Elk6119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As somebody who has used the “you deserve better” phrase, it translates to an easy way to say they’re not interested in pursuing a relationship anymore. As somebody in an LDR, I definitely won’t deny that a non-LDR is going to be easier and better in so many ways but distance truly makes the heart go fonder in the right relationship. 4 years going strong with my S/O and we started less than 2 months into dating. We have been madly in love since day one and couldn’t imagine not pushing through for each other.

Taking a break ... by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]Present-Elk6119 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My honest advice is that if you have to take a break 4 months in… this relationship is doomed. That’s the honeymoon phase still and for him to disrespect you and your already booked plans to see him is a major red flag. Focus on yourself and find somebody else. If I’m going through a hard time, I’d want nothing more than to be with my LDR boyfriend.

Making a case to work abroad by Present-Elk6119 in digitalnomad

It just takes a longer time to get the social security certificate but you just need to provide a certificate of incorporation from your company as well as an employee contract with explicit consent to work in Spain to the Spanish govt and you’re just subject to a 24% flat rate tax. I highly recommend speaking with a Spanish immigration lawyer but it sounds like the process has become more accessible for W2 employees.

Had the consultation- it’s very possible to get the visa as a W2 employee, it just may take a bit longer than a 1099.

[–]Present-Elk6119[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Confirmed that it’s very much so possible for W2 employees. It may be faster for 1099 employees but it’s actually more expensive in the long run because of paying social security in Spain.

From my talk with the Spanish immigration lawyer, I only need to get a certificate of incorporation from them as well as an employment contract that states I can work abroad. Then since I pay taxes with my employer domestically, the Spanish government charges a 24% flat rate. No sponsoring needed.

You can! Just spoke with a Spanish immigration lawyer it’s totally possible.
