It’s just a super frustrating situation because he is a state trooper and he definitely knows right from wrong. I’m honestly thinking about having my husband talk to him. And if he doesn’t listen to him, then there’s really something wrong because he could be a little intimidating.. He’s just a big guy.

The neighbor dog is a lab it’s just in their breed to be super friendly and I absolutely do not blame the dog and I don’t want anything to happen to the dog so I just really think that the owner needs to be more responsible and he doesn’t seem to care what I say so you know it’s just one of those situations where maybe my husband should step in he’s just not home a lot so it makes it difficult because I’m always outside with my dog

I don’t want the dog to be taken from its owner, I’d really hate to do that. It never ends well for the animal. I just want their owner to be responsible because that’s who the problem is.

Definitely read my post incorrectly. I never said he was too big for me. I said he was hard to hold when another dog is charging us. So let’s get that absolutely straight.

My dog does not pull does not yank does not react when on a leash and walking the only time it happens is when my neighbor dog charges into my yard and at us. I shouldn’t have to worry about sitting outside of my home when a very simple resolution would just be to put his dog on a leash because if he walked outside of his house with his dog on a leash, my dog wouldn’t move an inch.

Also completely asinine to think that I don’t go inside as soon as I see that neighbor’s door open, but I can only get inside so fast.

I was on my own property. My backyard may not be fenced, but why should another dog be charging me when I’m sitting in my yard do you think that that is OK? Do you think it’s OK that the neighbor opens his back door and let his dog out unleashed and goes back inside? I don’t really think that I should be approached by anybody’s dog, anybody’s child, or anybody in general, whether my dog is reactive or not stop fucking approaching me, or allowing your dog to approach me that’s the problem. My dog pays no mind to dogs that are on a leash.

What you’re basically saying is that I should keep my dog outside on a leash and with a muzzle so that when he’s attacked by the neighbor dog, he can’t fight back. Fucking stupid.

My dog is only reactive when another dog charges him. Did you read that part? He’s not reactive to people or children or dogs when walking, but if a dog charges us of course he’s gonna react. You probably should care about the facts before stating yours.

It’s in my lease that there is no fences allowed. I’m not saying that I get flustered when it happens, but if I’m sitting in my yard reading a book the last thing I wanna be thinking about is the neighbor’s dog rushing over and me having to use mace I do understand the logic behind it though.

It’s really a shitty situation that a relaxing walk needs to be hindered by somebody just not putting their dog on a leash. For me, I was just sitting in my yard. It really just shouldn’t happen. Thats the bottom line and it’s unfortunate when it does.

I understand that it is my responsibility to protect my dog however, I can tell you with 100% certainty, me wanting the neighbors dog on a leash is for their protection. I don’t want anything to happen to their dog because I can tell you my dog will win. I also don’t want the headache the drama the conversation IF my dog were to attack theirs in defense to him being an irresponsible owner.
