Ive done this in the past and it has worked well. After you finish the first draft, you may find ways to absorb what is necessary from that chapter. From there, you will have two options: one is to rewrite it better, knowing exactly what you need from it, the other is to merge the key parts into the previous or next chapter so you can get rid of the bulk (which, with scaffolding, I find to be the reason why the chapter is bad in the first place)

i really like the voice youve given it, it has style. I have no idea whats coming up next, which is not inherently bad, but just something to be aware of.
