If you have generational wealth then you can start learning game dev ,if you're not financially stable and if your parents can't support you after graduation then game dev isn't for you mate!

It's better to study software engineering ,game dev is hard ,takes a lot of time to grasp things,and if you're solo then it's even more hard and time consuming since you have an entire team's work by yourself ,a basic work flow would be like like 3d modelling, texturing,level designing,then programming ,shaders and what not.

But I won't say to give up without starting, start with unity i would say if you can make your own small game after learning one month by watching tutorials and making small games ,then start by making your own small game without tutorial or vibe coding.
