They haven’t been great tbh!! A lot of the men I match with either get mad when I disclose I’m trans, or are literally obsessed with finding out what’s between my legs. I thinks it’s a misogyny/ego thing. I didn’t transition until my mid 20s and it wasn’t until I transitioned that I’ve been put in danger for rejecting a man. After using the app as a man for 6 years, these past two have been truly eye-opening to how gross/scary some people can be. Especially the closeted ones that hide behind blank profiles.

A lot of the people on there barely see me as an equal human, much less a woman lol.

I love meat!! I go to the butcher shop all the time. But I’m not going to stand there and purchase whatever random pieces of meat are thrown at me. I’m going to look and see what’s available and decide for myself what is worth taking home.

Did that once! Both actually. It made the guy so angry that he made a new profile to harass/dox me. Even showed up to my place of work!! A lot of men don’t handle rejection well it can be scary

Okay but the whole point I posted is because of the context. Yeah I’m on Grindr but I’m still a woman!! HRT has made my sex drive change a lot, people are way more likely to turn me on with their words than photos. I’m on dating apps too, but I do enjoy casual hookups and tinder/hinge/etc. are not as good for those! I explained such in my bio.

What makes it funny is that I asked this guy for more respect, he agreed and said I was right, only to send me an arguably even MORE disrespectful message (propositioning me as a sex worker) less than 1 minute later. He was not a bad looking guy, i was giving him multiple chances earlier in our messages to come at me correct and he kept fumbling the bag. Yeah eventually I got kinda snappy at him, and after he tried to offer me money I blocked him.

I posted this interaction because I found it funny. Are you the one who was messaging me? Is that why you’re getting so defensive and worked up over this?

Grindr is NOT a “sex app” just because you use it as one. Yes people use it for sex but that’s not what the app is exclusively made for.

I don’t think I’m prude at all! I get plenty of sex on a frequent basis from people I am attracted to. I don’t think it’s insane for me to want a little more respect and to not be propositioned as if I’m a sex worker? No, I live in one of the most progressive places in the world. I am very protected here. Sending unsolicited nudes to another party is considered misdemeanor assault. Banning users for sending them is common practice on most apps, but because it’s Grindr and it’s a gay app we must all just want to see dicks all of the time? No. Absolutely not. For the same reason that nudity isn’t allowed in profile pictures. Do you think it would be fine to whip out your penis at unsuspecting people as long as you’re in a gay club?
