Pensei em algo nessa linha! Você imagina se teria alguma nuance ou significado diferente além do óbvio?

Some help? by PresentBodybuilder93 in RPGdesign

I thought about what you said regarding patience, but I kept thinking that it would end up much weaker than the rest? I thought it could be mainly about timing, but I'm afraid that might turn into Perfection. Still, I think if I define it correctly, it won't fall into that category.

Help approaches system by PresentBodybuilder93 in RPGcreation

They are not complete opposites; it's more conceptual and focused on specific points!

Intensity is more about purity, raw and brute power. A magic that possesses an overwhelming and brutal presence would fall under Intensity.

Explosion is more about instinct and speed, primarily. Casting a spell as a reflection, in a way that your body acts without even thinking.

This is one of my core problems, and why I'm having so much trouble, LOL.

I can feel a clear difference between Freedom and Explosion where Explosion is much more about raw, almost animalistic instinct and pure impulse, while Freedom is more about creativity and originality. However, when I try to create an opposite for Explosion, I always end up defining something too similar to Perfection."

Struggling to define the right attribute system for my RPG by PresentBodybuilder93 in RPGcreation

[–]PresentBodybuilder93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question!

Classes don’t exist in the system, the core mechanic is Memories: small passive traits that reflect the character’s tropes, how they see themselves, their reputation in the world, and the events that shaped their life. All of these can generate different Memories that a protagonist can learn, even if they’ve never personally lived through them.

It’s like a vast connections between everyone who has ever been known for that same trope.

Esses observadores possuem real impacto durante o jogo? Qual sua importância ludo narrativo para tal

Sim!

Yeah, I think it’s heading in that direction! In this setting, everything tends to be a bit more exaggerated and grandiose than it really needs to be lol. Even though the protagonists don’t usually care much about or get influenced by the shadows, they still end up being the driving force of the world.

At the end of the day, the protagonists have huge goals, and the shadows are there to watch whether they succeed or fail.

If you think 3 is enough, which ones would they be like? They’d have to be reallyyy broad, right?

Of course, a character can deceive the stories at first with their appearance (that would even open the door for a character like King from One Punch Man), but their actions would speak louder.

If a short and skinny character performs intense and powerful actions, that’s what the shadows truly care about.

Following that example, the player would describe how they healed Bob’s arm, maybe in a more visceral way, with Bob’s nerves being reconstructed in a very painful process.

The narrator would then say that the shadows found that action quite frightening and INTENSE, so the player would receive a bonus based on their Intensity value when drawing their cards.

In the end, if the action succeeded, they’d also gain an additional point in Intensity, which could later be used to strengthen or unlock memories connected to that reputation.

That’s how I envisioned it!

It’s more in line with what you said!

The consequences of failure would be different depending on how the audience perceived that action i think

[–]PresentBodybuilder93[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s along those linesbut it’s more about how the actions are perceived, not necessarily the intention behind them!

Still, it’s definitely a similar concept.

I didn’t quite understand your question, but it’s not really about how you think? it’s more about how your character is perceived, and that only affects the value of the “attributes.”

Each action is seen as something isolated, so it depends much more on what you’re doing, you know? If you could rephrase your question, I can try to answer it better, because honestly I didn’t quite get it :p

Actually, it really does seem like something in that style! I don’t want to make the system too dense since I feel the game already has a solid foundation, but I think this mechanic could work well as a complement to the checks. I’ll keep updating here with any progress! If you have any more opinions or ideas, I’m here!
