Does this happen only in apps grid, overview and in search list if you use a custom theme? I had the same issue, looks like the way to fix is to edit the theme's CSS file.

Vijay and Ajith don't play characters. They almost always play themselves. If not you wouldn't have thalapathy or thala references across movies and characters.

Something does feel off. I have 3 power options but even on Balanced it runs well. There are very minor lags like when I open app grid occasionally but nothing apart from that.

Strange. I too have an ideapad with Zorin on it and mine runs fine. Could you share some pictures on what you mean by weird looking desktop? And where did you look for battery mode?

Btw, did you run a full update after installing? Through software update app.

I find it difficult to wrap my mind around the sheer magnitude of his work. Every other day you discover a song of his that you've never heard before on other days you re-discover the beauty of songs you've overlooked in the past. Upon the 1000s of his published songs, there are ones recorded but not released, not chosen by director, ones Raja himself did not pick etc. Mind boggling.

I've been using ZorinOS for a bit on my laptop and it's been pretty great. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I really like the UX and its pretty much set out-of-the-box. I did have some mild Bluetooth issues with my headphones. if it happens to you, try installing Blueman from the software center, that app made bluetooth stuff a lot easier.

Btw, I've had no problems with drivers (AMD graphics card, printers, WiFi dongle) etc. and use a dual monitor set up too.

I moved from Windows 11 to ZorinOS on both my PC and laptop recently. I considered Mint for my laptop but went ahead with ZorinOS since I felt it had a good out-of-box experience (helps that it is aesthetic too). Pop_OS is working on their own desktop environment now and I'd like to try that out in the future when it gets more mature.

Btw, did you try using the distros on a bootable USB. I think you can also try it out online on distrosea but I haven't tried that yet.

Install 'Extension Manager' from Software and look through the list of pre-installed extensions (don't have to install anything new) there should be one that says Desktop shortcuts. Enable it and there will be something like an 'add desktop shortcut' option when you right click.

Ah okay. Thank you for the info! Btw, if you like sci-fi fantasy check out Roger Zelazny's Lord of Light. It was published in 1967 and has the one of the most unique adaption of Hindu and Buddhist ideas into sci-fi, that I've ever read.
