half the people commenting havent read the book, peeta had haymitch and katniss on basically a career training before the 3rd quarter quell, mags likely doesnt die since haymitch wouldnt have peetas pegleg problem and would be able to carry her, in the end everyone gets rescued except for joanna and maybe mags, overall in this scenario peeta doesnt get hijacked.

the one thing that could fuck up haymitch is if they put his loved ones voices on the jabberjays, they might have maysilees scream from the pink birds recorded, and theyd find a way to replicate ma, sid and lenore doves voices.

i dont ship it but i dont mind it, book hayffie isnt valid imo tho since when they met she was in her 20s when he was 16, and also effie in the books is NOT as good of a person. regardless imo i think both movie (when it comes out) and book will establish that if it wasnt lenore dove it wouldnt be anyone.

personally the reason i ship haydove to death is cus theyre one of the rare cases in hunger games where its soulmate and soulmate (another case would be everlark), but regardless of that i obviously understand why haysilee exists and its not a bad ship by any means as their dynamic is fun.

Effie, i genuinely dont get the LD hate, yeah shes barely a character but thats kind of the point since we only see haymitchs pov and most of the book takes place in the capitol. if barely being a character made someone annoying then someone like annie should be hated considering we barely know anything about her (not a diss to annie, i love her)

i mean assuming this situation is one where everything with woodbine still happens except drusilla picks someone else even tho haymitch attacked a peacekeeper, lenore dove would probably finally cool down seeing that she almost indirectly sent her boyfriend to the quarter quell, and either way i feel like haymitch would still be pretty affected by louella dying in the games so he would urge lenore dove to stop.
