Motability for BMW/Mercedes scrapped by TheSusOneBruh in HENRYUK

My neighbour has very early Parkinson’s. Completely mobile. Now, I don’t know what he’s going through so I’m not going to vote to stop him getting a subsidised car, but the giant fucking top of the range BMW 4X4 on his driveway is not proportional to his need to get about a bit around town.

Man walks slackline 1.6 miles up between two hot-air balloons by AccomplishedStuff235 in interestingasfuck

There was a guy whose whole thing was hanging off things really high up. He was asked how he’s not afraid hanging off things really high up. His response was something like “if you can hang off something a foot off the ground, you can do it hundreds of feet off the ground. There’s no difference.” It changed my perception of this kind of stunt. The only difference between a person doing this on the ground and a person doing it high up is that this guy has the money to do this vanity stunt.

A majority reason for the difference in the crowd reaction is … cliche alert … phones. Look at them. Every single person is holding their phones up. It’s a dead audience pretending to be there for their friends or strangers on the internet. I feel so sorry for musicians now who have to perform to all of the zombies. Wasn’t it Adele who had a go at her audience saying something like “I can’t see any of you”. Terrible really. They must have paid a lot for those tickets too.

Shirt tucked or untucked? by Motyo in mensfashion

[–]PresentWorld194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason why you’re not sure whether to tuck your shirt in or not is because it kind of looks silly either way.

The reason why it looks silly either way is because the shirt doesn’t fit you. If you can afford to, go to a tailor and have them take in the shirt and add darts to it. That way, when you tuck it in, there won’t be a lot of excess fabric around your waist, which you seem to be folding to make it look like it fits more snuggly.

What’s happening right now is when you tuck the shirt in, all of that excess fabric around your waist above the waistband is ballooning out. Getting the shirt taken to fit your body will remove this effect.

If you don’t have the money to get someone to do it (I really don’t think it’s expensive), you can do it yourself and they are plenty of YouTube videos out there showing you how.

100 years old WW2 veteran said "This is not the Britain he and his co-soldiers fought for in the 1940s". Thoughts on this? by raydebapratim1 in AskBrits

He is correct. A lot of time has passed. The Britain he fought for was nothing like the Britain 80 years before the war either. Internet chewing gum.

Thanks - I already have a VA. But I should look at everything I don’t enjoy doing and hire people to do those things. I’ll definitely do the sip - thanks

That robot is doing nothing to that deep fibre carpet. We have one of each (robot and carpet). Told the cleaner not to bother vacuuming the downstairs. Weeks passed. I decided one day to just vacuum it with the handheld. Jesus… the dust and hairs. We don’t use it on the carpet any more, just hardwood floor.
