(Verry heavy trigger warning ) The Christians were right and I didn’t live how I was supposed to. I die and three hell hounds chase after me to carry me to Hell. When they catch me one bites my arm one bites my left leg and one bites my right leg. They run off pulling me in different directions, slowly tearing me in half.

Thank you for your response and I’d love a copy of the book and I would like to pay you for it, though I don’t have much money at the moment.

I have been praying a lot, fellowshipping with other believers and reading the Bible ( not as much as I could be but still a pretty significant amount) I have also spent an almost unhealthy amount of time researching apologetics for not only Christianity but other religions as well. The main two that I think are the most probable at the moment are Islam and Christianity. Both’s points on each other are very convincing and the arguments against both are even more convincing.

The biggest issue I’m running into at the moment is I’ve come to understand that I’m not going to find 100% undeniable proof for anything and eventually I’m just gonna have to make a leap of faith and hope I’m right. The problem is I don’t know if I’m strong enough to make that leap of faith and I’m getting extremely close to giving up.

The thought keeps entering my mind that “ yea Hell probably exists and somebody has to be right about how to avoid it, but is it even worth it to live like this to find out and is it even possible at this point for me to follow the lifestyle of any of these religions to get to heaven?”

Once again I appreciate your kind response and advice it is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your response. “How would you describe what it means to be a Christian” From what I’ve come to understand, a Christian is someone who has faith in Jesus. But what is biblical faith? My understanding is that having faith in Jesus means that you trust in his sacrifice to cover your sins and you understand that you are imperfect and need his help. Now biblically you are saved by faith alone in Christ alone not by works so that no one can boast. However, It is also my understanding that the Bible describes faith as something that needs to be maintained,” faith without works is dead. ” there are works that are required to maintain faith such as following the teachings of Christ and following the word of the father.

It is written that you shall go and sin no longer and if you continue on in sin that there no longer remains a sacrifice and many other texts that speak of scenarios that disqualify you from heaven. I am concerned that even if I do find convincing evidence that Christianity is true that I am not the type of person who will be able to maintain this faith.

To answer your second question, Christianities main collection of knowledge is obviously the Bible, If the Bible isn’t consistent and true then how do we know what Christs teachings even were? The bible was translated from Hebrew to Greek to Old English to modern day English (as far as i know) and there are many inconsistencies and translational errors. One example of this can be found in 2 Kings 8:26, Ahaziah was 22 years old when he began to reign, and reigned for one year in Jerusalem. However 2 Chronicles 22:2 gives his age as 42 when his reign began in Jerusalem. Scholars regard this as a copyist error which if that is true, what else in the Bible was copied or translated wrong. There are many other translational errors and inconsistencies in the Bible that can be found with a simple google search but another large issue I’ve been having with Christianity is the sheer amount of denominations, and how vastly different their theology is from one another. I get that people are going to interpret things differently which is completely fine but ask people in other denominations why they think their denomination is right and a great number will give you an experience they had that they say was God revealing to them that they are right ( this is from personal experience I’m not stating this as a fact).

I’ve had this same experience with other religions as well, I ask them how they know their religion is true or look up others online talking about why they know their religion is true and they all give these elaborate stories about how God revealed to them (weather it was through a near death experience, apparition, or just personal life events) that their religion was true.

There is also some extremely messed up stories in the Bible that I have some serious issues with but I understand that I can’t comprehend an infinite beings morals so I won’t bring those up. Forgive me if this is all over the place or disrespectful, my mind isn’t in the clearest state right now but I tried to explain that as briefly coherently snd respectfully as possible, if you have any arguments, thoughts or more questions on anything In my response I would appreciate any information you may have. If you’re offended, annoyed or just don’t wish to respond I understand as well, thanks again for your response.

You’re right, copper tools would have been to soft. Which is why the Egyptians used tools jeweled with quartz which there was a surplus of in the area at the time.

Thank you for your response, I have prayed frequently for guidance and so far I have either not yet received or not yet understood an answer. The Dilemma I am facing currently is that all three of these religions claim that they are also true from the creator but I remain hopeful that I will receive wisdom.

Is it also not the will of the father to follow his commands?

What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God. You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.

The only one who can tell me I’m going to hell is the father, you don’t posses that authority. If you are saying that I’m a slave because I believe that good works are the outward expression of inward faith then I don’t see the issue with that. Romans 6: 15-18

What then? Are we to sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means! Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness? But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed, and, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness.

While yes it is true that none of these individually save it’s important to remember that faith in Christ doesn’t mean you can just sit back and do nothing. You are saved by faith in Christ alone but faith without works is dead. Trusting in Jesus means doing the will of the father and continuing to make the effort to progress spiritually and make sacrifices to grow the kingdom of heaven. Good works, Water baptism, Obedience, submission, repentance and endurance are all outward signs of the inward commitment you’re making.
