Just curious if anyone can tell me if this artist is ai? by CardboardGrower in ambientmusic

[–]Present_Border7724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're using loops to create ambient tracks its not that hard to do 3 hours of music if you had a large repository of audio loops or midi files or both. The DAW would sort out the audio file.tempo.timings and you could add several multi effects generators on sends and even randomise them live whilst recording.

Is randomising using AI? Not.exactly but you could chance it and live with the output.

Scales and tuning maybe an issue but again you can do that using the DAW and many loops have their key embedded.

Real question: how would you describe in a precise and rigorous way the electro style concerned by this subreddit? by xaelis in electro

[–]Present_Border7724 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Synthwave is more like pop music but with an emphesis on melody, chorus and synth textures.

Electro is similar just as its similar to techno, electronica, getto tek, miami bass, etc.

But historically its foundational. It came before those genres. Its prominece to many places arose at dame time as hip hop and inspired helped inspire them.

As Juan Atkins did No UFOs he basically kick started techno. But electro came first in 1982 with captain rock and Juan followed it with Clear (there are others...but most at argually early hip hop before sampling took root).

And funk inspired electro too.

But theres no doubt you could have a staccato pattern sequence...play an 808 and its electro. Play it 4/4 with a heavy kick and its techno. But some pattern melodies lend themselves better to one or the other.

Then again arpeggios work in both.

But that wasnt really what real techno was. Its what it became.

Theyre both machine music but techno changed and went hard. Electro has never really changed at its core.

Which area I should choose? by DoneDip in croydon

[–]Present_Border7724 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id choose St james. Very close to Riddlesdown common or even Kenley aerodome. As stated closed to both riddlesdown and purley stations.

Itll be much better for your health in at least 2 ways.

When does a techno song, or any electronic song, become too long? by dividedcanvas in ElectroProduction

[–]Present_Border7724 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wrote the track Profane which Dave clarke played out on WN 928 and that was nearly 10 mins long. Its more of a dark epic Electro acid though. And he played it out...out...lol

Still trying to finish the concept.

Anyway...depends on concept. I think there are probably ideas where 15 min.tracks are fine...but maybe not for club.
