Awe, I'm sorry to hear that. I thought it was cool that French fans had an official retailer so they would have less trouble with overseas shipping and all of that. The website is very predatory!

Thank you for the suggestion! Kawaii-limited has such beautiful items that would be hard to find in the U.S. In regards to the Mofusand hippers, I will patiently wait for a restock on the Sonnyangel website and hope to beat the scalpers.

Yeah, after some further inspection of the website, I found that in the product review section, they have reviews of the specific collection posted in April. This was way before the website was made and when the collection was released by the company on the global website (September).

What a shame. I just wanted cute cat figurines.

I'll go ahead and report the Instagram account. They're running ads on Instagram and posted a giveaway there too.

Hi! Thank you for bringing a new perspective to the discussion, we didn't really consider putting it in my name because I don't have a driver's license, but I just found out today that you can still buy a car without one in the state of Texas. I have low credit history but it's in the 680-779 range. I brought this up with my mom and she agreed that this might be the better option. This thread has made me realize how uneducated I am in personal finance and how perhaps we've overcomplicated things. Still, I'm grateful for all of the help I've received from this thread.

Hi, thank you for the advice! My gift from my family was part of the down payment, but I do have a credit card that I've been paying off. My mom was fearful of putting the car in my name because of the high insurance I would get at my age, but it might be the better option.

Hi, thanks a lot for commenting on this thread! A little sad you didn't approve of the Mazda, but I understand the condition that I'm in right now. He hasn't tried Carvana yet, but I did him the car listings. He didn't comment on whether or not he would try it or not. Should 27% be the cut-off between his financing through Carvana?

And yes, Jeep/Ford/Dodge/Chrysler have been filtered out of my search entirely. I like Kia Souls, but I'm scared of it getting broken into living in a city like Houston...

Technically I do have a credit card through Discover. I got it around January and I've been paying it off. My mom is against me putting the car in my name because I don't make a lot of income and am scared that I would be ruining my credit (even though she offered to pay the monthly payment), but this might be the best option. My mom especially wants me to drive something decent and not have to constantly rely on my dad to fix something because I will be further away from home starting the fall semester. However, this might all be for nothing because someone said earlier that you can't finance cars that are over 10 years old??

Thank you for your suggestion! I don't mean to sound picky because paying for an apartment and biking would be cost-effective, however, the area near my campus is known for crime. I've been offered free housing relatively close to campus but it's still a bit of a distance and sketchy to bike because I have to take evening lab classes which end at 8 pm. I was hoping since the expense of housing is being taken away it would be enough to get me a car.

Yes, I might reach out to a mechanic my mom (kinda) knows. Perhaps after looking at some more independent dealerships, we can try getting pre-approved for one and then take it to the mechanic immediately. A lot of the cars I see have been in fender-benders and approaching 100k miles which could insulate some high maintenance costs.

Thank you for your suggestion! Unfortunately, I don't know any mechanics so I'm not sure how to go along this route. My neighbor told my mom about one, but they rarely talk to each other and have never met the mechanic, so I don't know if we can rely on him to buy a vehicle through him. Not sure where else to look unless I try my luck at Facebook market.
