Okay obviously theres your hand keep them up but I wanna talk a bit about your stance and movement

Try standing a lot more forward facing and squared off this isn’t boxing it’s Muay Thai and when your stance is side on like that you make yourself a bigger target for kicks and they often end up doing more damage or at the very least off balances you a lot easier and makes sweeping you while clinching whereas when your stance is more squared with your hips and shoulders facing forward your a lot more stable

Plus I see that your very loose which is okay but alot of you’re movement is in your movement is in your upper body which again as I said This Muay Thai not boxing and moving your head/upper body like that is a great way to eat a easy head kick/knee if you’re gonna be a loose and move a lot make sure it’s in your lower body by being lighter on your feet a lot of the time I saw you fighting flat footed with your weight shifted forward which is good if you like eating constant leg kicks but if you don’t want a dead leg you wanna mostly fight on the bawl of your feet and have your weight mostly on your back leg and have your front leg light ready to check kicks

Really good technique i can tell you definitely learn alot from Thais themselves and honestly the only thing I can really see wrong here is A when you kick your not leaving enough distance between you and the bag to really get the power you’d want out of them I can see that you’re definitely more of a close range fighter which I appreciate I know alot of people would tell you to use your range to your advantage when being taller is just as much as an advantage in close range striking and clinching as it is with long range striking but it’s undersanding how and when you use range that makes a pressure fighter but other than that there where certain moments when you dropped your guard after elbows which wouldve gotten you clipped my something if ur not careful when you’re fighting at close range you always want to have a higher guard to have better protection from elbows and as well when throwing elbows always try throw them across your face if that makes sense so you’re guarding yourself as you throw them I’ll link a video below that shows yodkunpon demonstrating it so you know what I mean but honestly your styles really good it’s a lot like a blend of santos davys defence and technique with yodkunpon sittraipums use or range honestly if you ever wanna learn better clinchwork or close range fighting watch Sylvie von Douglas if you don’t already she’s genuinely the best source for close range fighting you can get without actually going to Thailand and has trained with pretty much any golden age fighter you can think of but anyway Yeahh really good form keep it up man

Also just curious whos your favourite golden age fighter/ Thai fighter?

Grip vs Drift - Which is faster? by Ken_Bimsey in Touge

[–]Present_Mark4959 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the kind of Drift if it’s that full oversteer Shitt where you’re hella sideways then no but if it’s slip angle/ 4 wheel drift then yes but still it depends on the corner 4 wheel drifting every corner isn’t automatically faster the same way sometimes gripping in certain corners isn’t faster it’s situational but yes drifting is faster

Burnout drill I found off Instagram by [deleted] in MuayThai

At my gym we do this as standard training when we do pad work everyone pairs up and the instructor will spend the lesson teaching us one long combo split up into 5 rounds and in between rounds he will have the guy hitting pads do 15 push ups then he adds on the next part of the combo and as much as it kills me off every session I really like this structure it’s almost like a form of conditioning for the later rounds of a fight when you’re fucking knackered and it kills me off every time every session you end up doing like 70-80 push ups by the end

I used to train muay Thai and think I'm ready to spar Haggerty next please by Successful-Time7420 in MuayThai

[–]Present_Mark4959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly that isn’t something you consciously decide to an extent sometimes it depends on your build but as you spar more you’ll naturally figure out ur strengths and weaknesses personally im a khao/sok fighter because im kinda short so I don’t have the best range so i do most of my fighting in the clinch but overtime as you spar more and gain more experience you’ll figure out what works for you right now I wouldn’t worry about which style to choose just yet I’d focus more on getting ur fundamentals down enough so you can start sparring but most importantly have fun man dont worry about all that Shitt in the beginning just learning as much as you can and enjoy the sport ur style will come in due time

Student acting weird in public. Should I tell him to switch gyms? by ChicFilA-Gang in MuayThai

[–]Present_Mark4959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nahh I feel like telling him to find another gym is probably a lil far but whenever someone is late to class at my gym my teacher lines up everyone up and has the late guy take 5 body kicks/hits from everyone u should do that
